Abstract

Description

The invention relates to trousers, in particular tennis trousers, according to the preamble of claim 1.

When playing tennis, there is a fundamental problem that the player (in the following mostly: the player) has to have two balls with him before the first serve, one for the first serve and another for the eventual second serve. In this case, the player usually does not want to keep the second ball in his hand, especially since he may have to throw it aside after a successful first serve. With conventional tennis pants (with a player also with a conventional tennis skirt), the second ball can basically be put in a pocket, which is often relatively uncomfortable with conventional tennis clothing and also does not provide a secure hold for the tennis ball against slipping out.

Various proposals have been made in the prior art as to how at least one ball can be carried on the body, but most of these are rather impractical, inconvenient or require an additional holding element which has to be carried on the body.

Proceeding from this, the present invention sets itself the task of providing tennis pants with which the at least one tennis ball can be worn safely and comfortably on the body.

This object is achieved by pants, in particular tennis pants, according to the preamble of claim 1.

The invention initially makes use of the knowledge that tennis pants made of an elastic material, which fit closely to the body, are worn at least during training, but more and more often also during tournaments. Such tennis pants, like any other pants, have an outer skin with an upper section and two leg sections extending from this upper section. Here, the outer skin (this also applies to any pair of trousers), if it is laid out flat in such a way that the two leg sections lie next to one another, has two outer longitudinal edges extending over the entire length of the outer skin.

It has been found that such pants are suitable for being equipped with an inner pocket which is at least partially formed from an insert made of a textile material and in which, depending on the size of the inner pocket, one or two tennis balls can be comfortably and safely taken. As access to this inner pocket, the outer skin has an opening in the area of a longitudinal edge. Due to the elasticity of the outer skin of the pants, the edge of this opening is stretchable, that is, the circumference of the opening can be enlarged. In the unstretched state, this circumference is preferably smaller than the circumference of a tennis ball, in a stretched state it is larger than the circumference of a tennis ball.

The opening is preferably bordered by an elastic band in order to make the access to the inner pocket clearly recognizable for the player and to facilitate the introduction of a tennis ball into the inner pocket. For this purpose, this elastic band preferably protrudes from the outer skin.

In order to fully retain the elastic properties of the trousers, the insert also preferably consists of an elastic textile material, which is more preferably a one-piece cut.

It has proven to be pleasant for the player to arrange the inner pocket and opening in such a way that at least part of the opening and part of the inner pocket are in one leg section, it being preferred that the inner pocket and opening are predominantly or even completely located in a section of the leg. That means the inside pocket is arranged quite deep.

The opening is preferably designed in the form of a slot and extends parallel to an outer longitudinal edge, in particular along an outer longitudinal edge. This has proven to be ergonomically advantageous; a tennis ball can very easily be put in and taken out of the inside pocket.

The inner pocket is preferably formed in sections by the insert and in sections by the outer skin, in particular in such a way that the insert is sewn to the outer skin by means of a single, closed seam so that the insert lies flat and precisely against the outer skin when the inner pocket is empty . This contributes to a comfortable fit of the trousers.

Since the slit-shaped opening is preferably located in the area of a longitudinal edge, this means that when the pants are laid out flat, in which they have a front and a back, the insert is by means of a front connecting section of the seam with the front and by means of a rear connecting section the seam is connected to the back, in particular sewn. In principle, these connecting sections could also be used as separate seams be carried out, but this is usually not preferred.

In order to make the trousers equally suitable for left-handed and right-handed people, they preferably have an inner pocket on both sides and are in particular designed to be mirror-symmetrical.
