Description
The invention relates to a device for diagnosing syndromes in a patient.
In many cases it is necessary to recognize or diagnose complex symptoms or syndromes of a patient.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a diagnostic device that recognizes complex patient complaints and provides inferences about hidden causes of such complaints.
This object is achieved by a diagnostic device with the features specified in the protection claim 1.
The invention thus provides a diagnostic device for diagnosing syndromes of a patient, the diagnostic device comprising a plurality of lead electrodes placed on the skin of the patient in areas of dorsal terminations of the spinal nerve of the patient and generating signals corresponding to the nerve activities in the respective areas, and an evaluation unit, which evaluates the signals generated by the derivation electrodes and assigns them to at least one known syndrome.
The diagnostic device according to the invention is characterized by a relatively low technical complexity and makes it possible to detect a large number of different complaints or syndromes in patients.
Head- bzw. MacKenzie-Zonen sind die empfindlichsten Areale der sog. Dermatome, d.h. der Hautkomponenten der Metamere. The diagnostic device according to the invention is based on anatomical findings with regard to so-called metamers in the body of a patient. Metamers form assemblies within a body that contain an internal organ of the patient. Metamers are structures which, in addition to the relevant internal organ of the patient, comprise a defined bone area, a defined muscle area and a defined skin area of the patient. For example, there is a metamer in which the patient's heart lies. The dorsal branch of the spinal nerve branches in the back of the patient, forming two rows of superimposed nerve endings. These nerve endings form sites of so-called "referred pain" and therefore provide diagnostic access to the individual metameres within the body of the patient. The upper spinal nerves can be included as so-called cranial nerves in the diagnostic approach. Internal organs of a patient project their body stress to the skin surface of the body (so-called referred pain). An example of this is the peripheral spread of pain, such as a heart attack or biliary colic. At defined body sites, in the case of stress of an organ, increased nerve activity is to be expected, which may manifest itself in various locally circumscribed vegetative responses, in particular piloerection, vasodilation, dermographism, altered temperature sensitivity, trophic disorders (e.g., Sudeck syndrome) and pain. The so-called head or MacKenzie zones are the most sensitive areas of so-called dermatomes, i. the skin components of the metameres.

The device according to the invention or the diagnostic device according to the invention automatically carries out a diagnostic mapping of signal patterns to different syndromes. In one embodiment, this can be done with the aid of a trained neural network, which was trained with corresponding signal patterns in a training phase.
