A laparoscopic forceps according to the invention consists primarily of a handle assembly and an elongated shaft, wherein the shaft has a jaw part which can be actuated by the handle assembly. The jaw part is opened and closed again. The jaw part has different functionalities.

The cutting edges are each arranged between the jaw joint and the respective roughening of the mouth halves. As a result, they are located near the jaw joint, which is advantageous for the cutting behavior, since the forces can be transmitted better. When closing the two mouth halves, the first and the second cutting edge correspond in such a way that the two cutting edges can cut, for example, a thread which is located between the two cutting edges.

Furthermore, the first mouth half has a first position marking on the other side of the first cutting edge, and the second mouth half has a second position mark on the other side of the second cutting edge. On the other hand, the cutting means in this context to be arranged on the outer skin of the respective mouth half. The position markings serve to better orientation of the user during the operation.
