Abstract
Selbstmassagegerät aus Holz.Self-massage device made of wood.
Description
Technisches Gebiet Technical area
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Selbstmassagegerät. The invention relates to a self-massage device.
Stand der Technik State of the art
Kurzbeschreibung der Erfindung Brief description of the invention
The invention aims to provide an improved self-massage device.
Technische Aufgabe Technical task
Hard foam rollers have a comparatively low compressive and compressive strength under the dynamic load occurring during self-massage. Foams used in the prior art sometimes have a compression hardness of less than 40, which corresponds to an indentation hardness of less than 40 g / cm 2 , and increasingly lose elasticity with continued use. Depending on the user's body weight, self-massage technique used and clothing worn, a conventional rigid foam roller may therefore not exert the counter pressure on the soft tissue to achieve or eliminate myofascial trigger points and other muscle hardening. For the same reasons, adhesions from a hard foam roller can not be sufficiently solved. In addition, the foam used carries a considerable risk of allergy and forms a possible breeding ground for bacteria, especially since a microbial cleaning of the porous material is associated with great effort.
The invention solves this problem by the claimed use of a wood material instead of conventional hard foam.
Vorteilhafte Wirkungen Advantageous effects
The invention is based on the finding that wood has a sufficient material hardness and a natural surface in order to dissolve myofascial adhesions and thus specifically to expand or promote the range of motion and the blood flow of the user. As a viscoelastic material, wood of the device according to the invention gives excellent elastomechanical properties for the intended use in the context of self-massage. When compared to known foam rollers only slightly increased weight, the self-massage device is characterized by its much higher rigidity. While the immense tensile strength of the wood gives the device a stability and robustness that is advantageous in the field of training therapy, the compressive strength of the material remains behind this value by about 50% and ensures a compliancy of the device that the user perceives as pleasant.
In addition, an inventive self-massage device is characterized by its high moisture absorption capacity, which is due to the hygroscopic properties of the material wood. Depending on the type of wood used, the device therefore has a fiber saturation range of up to 35% moisture content, so that sweat secreted by the user's skin can be temporarily absorbed by the material and released again by evaporation if not used later. As the wood moisture increases, so does the thermal conductivity of the device and gives the heated user a pleasant cooling. The conditional by the anatomical structure of the wood permeability of the self-massage device favors this effect in addition.
Furthermore, the renunciation of the use of synthetic foams according to the invention avoids an undesirable emission of environmentally harmful chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), as they serve in the context of foam extrusion as a propellant gas for the addition of molten polypropylene (PP). A possible cascade use of the wood material used in final Energy recovery or composting brings further ecological and economic benefits. Due to its anisotropic material properties such as cleavage, hardness, elasticity and length change, the use of wood also allows a very diverse design of the proposed self-massage device under application-specific and production-practical aspects.
Finally, the color and structure of the wood used give the self-massage device an appealing look that combines with its haptic properties to create an aesthetically pleasing overall impression. The positive psychophysiological effects of the wooden natural substance associated with this impression include, in addition to other stress-reducing phenomena, in particular a lowering of the heart rate of the user of a device according to the invention. Furthermore, the natural surface of the wood, z. As by friction, to promote blood circulation of the muscles. Overall, wood proves to be extremely proprioreceptive during the massage. The human and our body respond very well to wood.
Overall, the above properties combine to form a product that is easy to clean, very durable, allergy-free, dirt sensitive and therefore suitable for outdoor use, stable and antibacterial.
Beschreibung der Ausführungsarten Description of the embodiments
The self-massage device according to the invention can be carried out, for example, in the form of a roller, a rod or a ball. Further embodiments emerge from the attached claims.
In the course of self-massage or physiotherapeutic intervention, the device exerts a dosed pressure on the body areas affected by myofascial adhesion. In this process, the solidified connective tissue is temporarily converted to a sol state by way of thixotropy. The liquefied colloid is now deformed or displaced by means of the device according to the invention, so that it solidifies after mobilization in the desired position.
Gewerbliche Anwendbarkeit Industrial Applicability
The invention can be used in particular in the fitness and wellness industry as well as for physiotherapeutic services.
