Die Haltbarkeit auf den zu desinfizierenden Gegenständen ist bislang sehr gering, je nach Nutzungsgrad muß täglich oder sogar mehrmals täglich erneut eine Desinfektion der Gegenstände vorgenommen werden. Dagegen erfolgreicher ist bislang eine Variante aus der Medizin: eine verbesserte Haftbarkeit und Abgabe z. B. von Medikamenten/Wirkstoffen an den menschlichen Körper hat sich im medizinischen Bereich in Form eines Nagellackes bewährt, der bereits den Wirkstoff/das Medikament beispielsweise gegen Nagelpilz enthält.
