Description
In trockenen, heißen Sommern insbesondere bei mangelnder Wasserbewegung, in stehenden oder nur wenig bewegten Gewässern mit geringem oder völlig fehlenden Wasserzulauf treten häufig Engpässe in der Sauerstoffversorgung auf. Überbesatz oder Überfütterung können sich ebenfalls nachteilig auswirken. Diverse, ernstzunehmende Versuche stellten den Sauerstoffmangel als wichtigste Schadensursache fest. Gleichzeitig wird jedoch nicht nur ein genereller Mangel an Sauerstoff festgestellt sondern mit lokalen Schwerpunkten im jeweiligen Gewässer. Dies sei auch mit der sehr langsam verlaufenden molekularen Diffussion des bereits im Wasser befindlichen Sauerstoffes verbunden. Mangels Wasserbewegung ist die Diffussion der mit Sauerstoff angereicherten Wasserstoffmoleküle in Richtung der nicht angereicherten zu langsam verlaufend.
