Abstract
Anti-skid pad for plucked musical instruments, characterized in that the carrier material of the pad has a non-slip texture on one side. On the second side, the carrier material has a smooth surface, such as can be produced by coating with lacquer, if leather is used as the starting material.
Description
This utility model application relates to a pad which prevents slipping of a plucked instrument played in a sitting position from the lap of the player playing. The pad has on its two sides on each a different surface texture. The instrument-facing side of the pad has an adhesive surface which is permanently but detachably connected to the body of the instrument at the support body-instrument. Adhesion of the pad to the musical instrument can be achieved by an elastic adhesive film, e.g. B. double-sided self-adhesive tape, or can be achieved by an adhesive film. The body of the playing person facing side of the pad has a strong grippy texture on its surface, which prevents the aforementioned sliding of the musical instrument from the body of the player. Preferably used materials possessing this property are roughened leather or rubber. The shape of the pad can be cut by the player with scissors until it is attached, for example to the body of the instrument.
Problembeschreibung und bekannte LösungsansätzeProblem description and known solutions
1. Problembeschreibung1. Problem description
The sound corpus of acoustic and electric-amplified plucked instruments (eg guitars or electric guitars) usually have a smooth surface. As a result, players of these instruments are confronted with the problem that the instrument, which usually rests on one of the thighs, tends to slip away during the course of the game. Usually, the instrument is therefore pressed by the player with the arm of the plucking hand to his own body and fixed in this way. This can have an adverse effect on posture and freedom of movement of the player. Even during breaks in the game, the instrument, if it is not stored, must always be prevented from slipping.
2. Bekannte Lösungsansätze2. Known solutions
Bekannte Lösungsansätze sind wie folgt:
- 2.1. A rubberized pad, which is placed loosely on the thigh before the instrument play, z. B. the so-called "concert towel". The disadvantages of this approach are:
- 2.1.1. The rubberized base, as not attached to the instrument, must be carried separately and placed in front of the game.
- 2.1.2. When using an electrically amplified instrument that is often played alternately while sitting and standing in common play in a music group (the instrument is held in the standing position by means of a shoulder strap), the use of the loosely placed pad is impractical, as they change from sitting to standing play, always needs to be supplied, otherwise it falls to the ground.
- 2.2 Also known is an anti-slip in the form of a shell-shaped, elastic body which is sucked by means of negative pressure on the instrument (see registered in Germany and Austria utility model
DE000008212873 U1 AT000000374935B - 2.2.1 This anti-slip device is not suitable for instruments with a narrow, organically shaped body, such as the electric guitar, because the "suction cup effect" on the sometimes highly tortuous lower edge of the instrument, which is the most important contact point of the instrument sound body on the thigh of the player can be done reliably.
- 2.2.2 Depending on the material used, the suction cup attachment requires the moistening of the primer, ie the instrument body or the sealing surface. The wooden body of the musical instruments can, if the "suction cup effect" at all a liability on the wood surface can be achieved by contact to moisture damage.
- 2.2.3 In order to ensure their functionality, this anti-slip pad is determined in its shape and can not be adapted individually to the instrument shape, be it for practical or aesthetic reasons, by the player.
- 2.2.4 Suction cup systems are comparatively complicated and costly in the preparation and aging processes such as dusting or deformation, which limit their functionality subject.
- 2.3 As a possible solution approaches conceivable, provisional mounting attempts of a slip-preventing pad on the instrument, for example by means of solvent-based liquid adhesive, screws or clamps, can lead to damage to the instrument body and thus a decrease in the value of the instrument.
