Description
The invention relates to an arc welding torch, which is provided with an acted upon by current, a weld-welding welding wire contacting contact nozzle is at least partially made of electrically conductive material and having an axial through hole for the welding wire.
In the known arrangements of this type, the contact nozzle consists of one piece, which is formed as a solid material component. This must be made of a comparatively hard, abrasion-resistant material, in order to avoid abrasion caused by the welding wire being carried out and resulting malfunctions. As a rule, so-called hard copper in the form of an alloy with chromium and zirconium is used. However, materials of this kind are not only relatively expensive, but also prove to be very difficult in terms of machinability. In particular, the production of the through hole with a partially adapted to the diameter of the welding wire, small diameter proves to be very difficult, so that many times the bore already containing, drawn pipes must be used, which further increases the cost price.
On this basis, it is therefore an object of the present invention to improve a device of the type mentioned in a simple manner so that the contact nozzle is relatively inexpensive to obtain and yet has a high reliability.
This object is achieved in that the contact nozzle consists of a base body and an insert body received in this, which consists of a different electrically conductive material of the body, electrically conductive material consisting of the group of CuCn and / or CuZr alloys is selected.
With these measures, the disadvantages of the known arrangements are completely avoided. The multi-part of the contact nozzle allows the selection of different, optimally adapted to the specific conditions materials for the main body and the insert body. Thus, the comparatively large-volume main body of a low-cost, electrically conductive material, such as brass or electrolytic copper, etc. can be produced. Only for the relatively small insert body with which the welding wire is to come in direct contact, higher quality material such as hard copper, z. B. in the form of a CuCnZr alloy needed, so that there is an overall optimization of the material costs. Since no direct contact of the welding wire with the surrounding material is required in the region of the base body, the material used for the base body may be a comparatively soft material which is not very abrasion-resistant, but can be processed comparatively easily. In addition, it is ensured that even in the case of a lower electrical conductivity due to the large cross sections still sufficient amount of electricity is transported. The direct contact of the welding wire can be assigned to the consisting of a high-quality, abrasion-resistant material insert body, so that even in the course of longer periods of operation no disturbances due to accumulation in the contact nozzle abrasion etc. are to be feared. Since the insert body relative to the base body is relatively small, the production of the insert body associated portion of the through hole with adapted to the wire diameter diameter with reasonable effort is possible, so that can be dispensed with the use of drawn tubes as starting material. The advantages achievable with the invention are therefore to be seen overall in an excellent economy.
Advantageous embodiments and expedient developments of the higher-level measures are specified in the subclaims. Thus, the insert body may be expediently pressed into a front recess of the base body. This ensures a reliable hold and a reliable, mutual material contact and thus a reliable electrical connection between the connected to a power source body and the welding wire contacting insert body.
A further development of the higher-level measures may consist in that the through-bore is formed as a stepped bore, wherein the bore portion assigned to the insert body has the smallest diameter adapted to the diameter of the welding wire. This ensures that no direct contact of the welding wire with the surrounding material takes place in the region of the basic body consisting of comparatively soft material.
Suitably, a wire guide associated with the welding wire can be provided, which engages with its front end region in the base body. The welding wire emerges from the wire guide coaxially with the axis of the through-hole and into the adjoining thereto, the base body associated portion of the through hole, so that in the intermediate region direct body contact between welding wire and surrounding body material and thus undesirable abrasion are avoided.
Further advantageous embodiments and expedient developments of the parent measures are specified in the remaining subclaims and from the following description of the example with reference to the drawing closer.
