Auch muss der bereits eingesetzte Zahnersatz nicht beschädigt werden, wenn eine Probe des Zahnersatzmaterials benötigt wird. Soll für einen Patient bspw. eine zweite Metallkeramikkrone angefertigt werden, vom Materialerscheinungsbild her natürlich identisch wie die bereits vor Jahren eingesetzte erste Metallkeramikkrone, so könnte sich das Dentallabor mit Hilfe des Zahnpasses dieses Patienten genau an der alten Metallkeramikkrone orientieren, von welcher eine Materialprobe in dem Zahnpass abgelegt wurde. Insbesondere können anhand des Probenmaterials Allergietests durchgeführt werden, indem z.
