Abstract

The sunsail (18) is tensioned through a cable (3) running at the top into the mast (4) through a protective sleeve and deflected through a guide pulley. The cable is tensioned through a crank drive and cable roller (8) inside the mast so that no lines are required to run from the mast or sail to the ground. The crank drive has a sprocket (10) and after each partial rotation of the cable roller by a crank handle (15) the cable roller is pressed by spring force (9) back into the position which blocks the cable from unwinding. The mast is secured against accidental release through a detent catch mechanism which locks into ground sockets (16).
