Abstract

The saddle has a seat body (3) with moulded damping cushion unit (4) with elastomer body (6) made from a material less hard than that of the seat body to follow the contours of the upper wall (34) of the seat body. A deformable bag (5) with fluid-tight sacs (51) with upper and lower main walls vertically opposite one another form a compressible chamber. With downward pressure on the compressible chamber an active medium is radially squashed to prevent the upper main wall from touching the lower main wall thereby producing a damping action. The sacs are embedded in the elastomer bodies. A flexible cover (7) surrounds the damping cushion unit.
