Abstract

The ring holds the pieces of wood to be chopped upright on the trunk by means of a ring encompassing the chopping matter. It consists of a ring-shaped tube (1) which has flat bars (2) which are attached to cushioning. The cushioning serves to protect the ring from the force of the axe blows and can be made of strong rubber strips. With the other end of the cushioning strips the gripping ring is attached to the trunk through a screw or plug connection. It can have a foldaway metal cross-piece which can be attached to the ring in order to chop the tiniest quantities which do not fill the gripping ring.
