Abstract

A steel smelting furnace has a tundish outlet rapidly discharging liquid metal. The outlet zone has especially a fire-resistant ceramic cover which reduces the ferrostatic pressure in the vicinity of the outlet. The cover has a number of apertures through which the molten metal flows. The cylindrical base section is extended and diverts the molten metal, reducing surge flow and associated vortices.

Claims (7)

1. Einrichtung zur Verhinderung eines Vortex-Effekts im Auslaufbereich (16) eines metallurgischen Schmelzgefäßes mit folgenden Merkmalen:
  • 1. 1.1 die Einrichtung besteht aus einem feuerfesten keramischen Werkstoff,
  • 2. 1.2 die Einrichtung ist nach Art einer Haube gestaltet, mit einem Basisteil (20b), an den sich in Richtung auf einen Boden (10) des Schmelzgefäßes mindestens eine Verlängerung (20w) anschließt,
  • 3. 1.3 in der Verlängerung (20w) ist mindestens eine Verbindungsöffnung (22) angeordnet,
  • 4. 1.4 die Verbindungsöffnung (22) verläuft, in Bezug auf eine Mittenlängsachse der Einrichtung, von außen nach innen schräg nach oben in Richtung auf den Basisteil (20b).
