Abstract

The manifold (1), particularly for a motor vehicle heat exchanger, contains a hollow chamber enclosed by a wall (7), a connecting aperture (9) issuing into the hollow chamber and an installation aperture also issuing into the hollow chamber for fixture of a baseplate (5) which has holes accommodating pipe ends. The pipe ends on operation of the heat exchanger together with the connecting aperture determine a pre-selected flow direction for a medium flowing through the hollow chamber. At least one reinforcement component produced in one piece with the wall is provided on the inside of the wall. It extends in the pre-selected flow direction, and is plate-shaped. It is connected with two opposing sections (7b,7c) of the wall.

Claims (8)

1. Sammelkasten für einen Wärmeaustauscher, insbesondere an Kraftfahrzeugen, enthal­ tend: einen von einer Wand (7) umgebenen Hohlraum (8), wenigstens eine in den Hohlraum (8) mündende Anschlußöffnung (9), eine zur Befestigung einer Bodenplatte (5) bestimmte, ebenfalls in den Hohlraum (8) mündende Montageöffnung (11), wobei die Bodenplatte (5) Löcher zur Aufnahme von Rohrenden aufweist, die beim Betrieb des Wärmeaustauschers zusammen mit der Anschlußöffnung (9) eine vorgewählte Strömungs­ richtung für ein den Hohlraum (8) durchströmendes Medium festlegen, und wenigstens ein an einer Innenseite der Wand (7) vorgesehenes, mit der Wand (7) in einem Stück hergestelltes Versteifungselement (16, 19, 25, 26), dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Versteifungselement (16, 19, 25, 26) im wesentlichen in der vorgewählten Strömungs­ richtung erstreckt ist.1. collecting box for a heat exchanger, especially on motor vehicles, containing: a cavity ( 8 ) surrounded by a wall ( 7 ), at least one opening ( 9 ) opening into the cavity ( 8 ), one for fastening a base plate ( 5 ) Assembly opening ( 11 ) also opening into the cavity ( 8 ), the base plate ( 5 ) having holes for receiving tube ends which, when the heat exchanger is in operation, together with the connection opening ( 9 ), a preselected flow direction for a cavity ( 8 ) set medium flowing through, and at least one manufactured with the wall (7) in one piece reinforcing member provided on an inner side of the wall (7), (16, 19, 25, 26), characterized in that the stiffening element (16, 19, 25 , 26 ) extends essentially in the preselected flow direction. 2.
