Smooth surfaces - hand cleaning device

- with intelligent waterway management -

The invention relates to a hand-held device for drip-free cleaning of smooth surfaces, in particular glass and window panes, with a completely new type of water-draining wiper strip, a water collecting channel located at a certain distance below it, a cleaning pad located under the water collecting channel and an absorbent material located behind this cleaning pad and thus below the water-draining collecting channel. The cleaning pad, wiper strip and the absorbent water collecting material are attached to the holder with an integrated handle in an easily replaceable manner. Using an adjusting flap located between the water collecting channel and the wiper strip, the user can decide whether the wiped-off water should be reused or only used once.

All of the cleaning devices for smooth surfaces on the market today have one and the same problem. They are equipped with water-squeegee rubber lips or wiper strips that make drip-free cleaning of vertical smooth surfaces, particularly window panes, impossible. The wiper strip profiles always have a clamping or holding bead below the wiping edge and are held there by a rail or similar (see Fig. 4 of the schematic illustrations). If the window wiper is then pulled from top to bottom on the wet glass pane, the wiped-off water cannot drain away. It accumulates exactly in the holding or clamping rail of the wiper strip (see Fig. 4 of the schematic illustrations) and inevitably runs out of this rail to the left and right (see Fig. 5 of the schematic illustrations). This means that water streaks either form to the left and right of the cleaned window wiper track, or the accumulated water lands directly on the carpet.

The object of the invention is therefore to improve and design a hand-held device for smooth surfaces in such a way that the aforementioned disadvantages are completely eliminated and a really effortless drip- and streak-free cleaning of smooth surfaces, in particular window panes, is possible.

The solution to the problem is that the water squeegee bar is designed in such a way that the scraped water can flow away unhindered (see Fig. 3 of the schematic illustrations).

In the wiper strip according to the invention shown in Fig. 3, the strip is not held underneath as in Fig. 4, but behind the wiper strip. The water is not blocked and can flow away unhindered.

To support the water flow, a water collecting channel is installed below the wiper strip at a distance of approx. 10 mm. This additionally collects the water that is wiped off and, depending on the position of the economically and ecologically oriented flap, directs it back into the front wiper pad located below the wiper strip and the water collecting channel, or into the absorbent material attached to the rear. The water stored in this way can then be pressed or wrung out of the absorbent material.

However, an advantageous design of this hand-held device is that the absorbent material is preferably attached to a so-called wringer flap. The wringer flap (see Fig. 2, point 10 of the schematic illustrations) is simply put over the edge of a bucket, the handle of the hand-held cleaning device is pulled back and the water is squeezed out of the absorbent water collecting material. This arrangement allows the user to clean a window without their hands coming into contact with the cleaning water. This aspect is particularly important nowadays as more and more people are suffering from allergies of some kind. Or the user decides that they want to reuse the scraped water because they do not want to constantly climb up and down the ladder in window skylight areas. In this case, they set the flap so that the scraped water flows back into the cleaning pad.

The invention is explained in more detail using the embodiments shown in Fig. 1 to 5. They show:

1 and 2 show the hand-held cleaning device according to the invention for smooth surfaces, in particular glass panes (GS) with intelligent water routing, the holder (1) of which is designed with a front wall (2) and a rear wall (3) with an integrated handle (4). The holder (1) can also be designed so that the handle (4) can be snapped into the rear wall (3). The front wall (2) has a dual function. It serves to hold the cleaning pad (5) and is also a water collecting channel (6) that extends over the entire length or width of the wiper strip (7). Connecting webs (8) reinforce, strengthen and connect the front wall (2) to the rear wall (3). The cleaning pad (5) is preferably releasably fixed with a Velcro fastener.

Between the front wall (2) and the rear wall (3) there is the water discharge flap (9), which is pivotally mounted, extends over the entire length or width of the wiper strip (7) and locks into its respective end position.

A wiper strip (7) according to the invention is inserted into the holder (1) in the front upper area of the rear wall (3), which is held in the rear wall (3) by its special, replaceable snap-in profile bead (7.1). In the lower area of the rear wall (3) there are snap-in eyelets (3.1) that serve as holders for the wringer flap (10). The absorbent material (11) is releasably fixed by means of retaining prongs (10.1) formed on the wringer flap (10).

The water collecting channel (6), the water discharge flap (9) and the easily mountable wringing flap (10), in addition to the newly shaped wiper strip (7), represent independent inventions and are specified in the protection claims.

The color, shape and material used for the hand cleaning device have no influence on the innovations according to the invention. It is also completely irrelevant whether the hand cleaning device presented here with intelligent water routing is made from a single piece or from several parts.

Claims (3)

1. Hand-held cleaning device with intelligent water path guidance for cleaning smooth surfaces, in particular glass and window panes, with a completely new type of water-draining wiper strip ( 7 ), a water collecting channel ( 6 ) running parallel to the wiper strip ( 7 ) at a certain distance below the wiper strip (7), and a water-discharging adjusting flap ( 9 ), characterized in that the wiper strip ( 7 ) and adjusting flap ( 9 ) are rigidly or replaceably attached to the holder ( 1 ) of the hand-held cleaning device with intelligent water path guidance. 2. Hand cleaning device according to claim 1, characterized in that a rotatably mounted wringer pad ( 10 ) is attached to the holder ( 1 ) below the wiping strip ( 7 ), which serves to receive an absorbent material ( 11 ) and thus to absorb the water wiped off during cleaning. 3. Hand cleaning device according to claim 1 to 2, characterized in that the holder ( 1 ) of the hand cleaning device with intelligent water path guidance has an integrated handle ( 4 ) or is designed such that the handle ( 4 ) consisting of one or more parts can be snapped into the holder ( 1 ).
