- Schmutzfänger mit automatischem Filtrataustrag -- Dirt trap with automatic filtrate discharge -
Dirt traps are used in pipelines to collect dirt particles that are in the product stream of the medium flowing through the pipeline.
The collecting sieve of a conventional dirt trap is cleaned by opening a cover of the dirt trap housing and removing the sieve through this opening for cleaning.
It is unavoidable that the residual product will leak out and pose a threat to the environment if the medium in question is such.
Generally, a strainer must be taken out of service in order to be cleaned.
Die Erfindung soll diesen Nachteil beheben. The invention aims to remedy this disadvantage.

The invention is described in more detail with the aid of two drawings.
Fig. 1 Längsschnitt eines Schmutzfängers mit automatischem Filtrataustrag in NormalstellungFig. 1 Longitudinal section of a dirt trap with automatic filtrate discharge in normal position
Fig. 2 Längsschnitt eines Schmutzfängers mit automatischem Filtrataustrag in Befüllstellung der AusschleußkugelFig. 2 Longitudinal section of a dirt trap with automatic filtrate discharge in filling position of the discharge ball
The innovation includes a conventional dirt trap with a housing (1) and a collecting sieve (2), which is supplemented by an automatic discharge of the filtrate in the sieve. The discharge of the filtrate is effected by a ball valve consisting of a housing (3), a switching ball (4) which is provided with a blind hole (5) and a collecting vessel (6). The switching ball (4) serves as the base of the collecting sieve (2) in operation. By rotating the switching ball (4) by approx. 180° in the direction of rotation (7), the blind hole (5) is connected to the filtrate space of the sieve (2) and receives the filtrate. (Fig. 2). By rotating the switching ball (4) further by approx. 180°, the filtrate is filled into the collecting vessel (6). The switching ball (4) is sealed (8) in the housing (3) in such a way that a direct flow from the product chamber (9) of the housing (1) to the collecting vessel (6) is not possible. The filtrate is discharged almost pressure-free.
