Products for households and DIY enthusiasts are now mostly sold in supermarkets with little or no professional advice. Special construction chemical products, such as sealants for DIYers, are sold in hardware stores. Since the advice given to customers by professional staff has been greatly reduced for cost reasons, information provided by printed brochures at the point of sale is becoming increasingly important.

In addition to the information printed on the products or sales packaging, retail outlets usually provide customers with printed advertising and information materials. In practice, the current approach is to keep the information materials for product promotion and use in baskets or slipcases on the shelves.

However, informing and advertising customers in the way described above is associated with a number of disadvantages: First of all, the confusing presentation of products in the advertising material, which the customer takes out of baskets or boxes, as a large number of different products on the shelves usually have to be advertised or informed about at the same time. A targeted allocation of information materials, e.g. in the form of leaflets, to individual products is not possible in this way. Furthermore, conventional advertising or information easily leads to wasteful use of this information material by interested parties.

The object of the present invention was therefore to provide a targeted, clear and cost-effective information system for customers in supermarkets.

This object is achieved by providing an information rail which has at least one paper tear-off pad with advertising information on the front (Figure 1). According to a further feature of the invention, the information rail is attached to the frame of sales shelves or similar sales equipment.

With this invention, the information material can be directly assigned to the products for sale and presented in the direction of the customer. The unnecessary removal of advertising and information material is eliminated or at least greatly reduced. At the same time, this leads to significant cost advantages in customer information and advertising.

The dimensions and geometric design of the information rail with tear-off block or blocks can vary widely. However, it makes sense for the rail to be at least as wide and long as a tear-off block. It has also proven to be beneficial if the tear-off blocks do not protrude beyond the rail (Figure 1).

The length of the rail is also based on the customer's field of vision. In practical terms, this means that the rail should be around 0.5 to 2 m long and 5 to 30 cm wide. A rail that is around 1.5 m long can easily accommodate three tear-off blocks.

According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention according to claim 2, the information rail is attached to the frame of sales shelves. The attachment can generally be carried out using fold connections, screws, snap connections, adhesives, Velcro connections or similar methods.

A particularly preferred embodiment of the invention is specified in claim 3. To secure the information rails using commercially available cable ties, the rail has several cross braces or cross pins around which the cable ties are pulled. The two ends of the cable ties can then be looped around the frame of the sales shelves and tightened.

The tear-off blocks are attached to the front of the information rail. All standard connection techniques are suitable for this. The base side of the tear-off blocks can be glued on, the blocks can be hung on pins or clamped using press rails. Velcro connections are also suitable.

In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the tear-off blocks are

screwed onto the front panel of the info rail (Figure 1).

The information rails are made of aluminum profiles, brass or surface-coated sheet steel, e.g. in painted or galvanized form. Plastic rails are also suitable. Plastic rails, in natural or colored, can be produced very cost-effectively in large quantities. The stressed information rails can also be easily produced from wood using known techniques.

The thickness of the rails depends on the material used. For sheet metal rails, sheet thicknesses of approx. 0.5 to approx. 2 mm are sufficient. Wooden rails are cheaper to produce in slightly thicker thicknesses due to different manufacturing techniques.

In particular, sheet metal rails made of aluminum or steel are bent to the rear to form a 0.5 to 3 cm wide, right-angled fold (see Figure 1). In the case of plastic rails, this fold can be formed directly by the extrusion tool.

Figure 1 shows an embodiment of the invention in perspective. The information rail with a fold bent backwards at a right angle carries three tear-off blocks. The tear-off blocks are screwed on. Three crossbars can be seen on the side, to which the information rail can be easily connected to the frames of the sales shelves using cable ties.

This invention provides a simple and cost-effective information system for customers in DIY and retail stores, at exhibitions and trade fairs, or in general retail. It is particularly noteworthy that customers only tear off and take with them the information sheets that interest them. This avoids unnecessary and therefore uneconomical consumption of information material.
