Claims (9)

Gerät zur physikalischen Wasserbehandlung auf elektrolytischer Basis mit Elektroden (1, 3), deren Oberflächen vom zu behandelnden Wasser umströmt oder benetzt werden, wobei die Elektroden (1, 3) während der zeitlichen Phasen der Wasserbehandlung, insbesondere durch Anlegen einer elektrischen Spannung, auf unterschiedlichen elektrischen Potentialen gehalten werden, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass Mittel vorgesehen sind, mit denen in den zeitlichen Phasen, in denen keine Wasserbehandlung mit dem Gerät erfolgt, negative Ladungen auf der (den) Kathode(n) (1) des Geräts soweit verringert, vorzugsweise minimiert werden können, dass ein an der (den) Kathode(n) (1) anliegendes restliches Redoxpotential zu einer Reduktion von Nitrat zu Nitrit an der Oberfläche der Kathode(n) (1) nicht mehr ausreicht.1.
