Today, plastic carrier bags are one-piece containers, as the word "plastic bag" also indicates.

The transport of bottles and in particular empties (empty bottles) when returning deposit bottles or disposing of bottles in containers provided for this purpose is currently carried out either in the standard crate system of the established reusable systems (mentioned here only for the sake of completeness), in carrying devices with a central handle for six bottles or in bags and pouches of any kind that have no internal divisions. In particular, when consumers collect empty disposable bottles in a plastic bag, the bottles are scattered all over the place in such bags. In future, such disposable bottles are to be subject to a deposit in certain beverage categories. If customers return to the store with a bag of empty disposable bottles that were not bought in a crate, the store staff are faced with the task of quickly identifying how many bottles are in the bag and, if applicable, which brand or return system the bottles are from. So far, the only option is to either remove the bottles, count them and inspect them visually, or to count the bottles from the outside and identify them using the information on the label if the bag has the necessary transparency and the number of bottles is not too high (less than or equal to six).

Solution

The plastic carrier bag, the protection of which is being sought, is divided into several sleeves in its lower part, the actual sack, i.e. storage space, by vertical welds (drawing 1, "A"). In our example, two welds were drawn, which together with the two outer edges of the bag result in three subdivisions. Empty bottles are placed in these subdivisions (drawings 2,4, 5,6). It is possible to ensure that the bottles in these sleeves can be identified quickly. This is achieved by lowering the upper edge ("B" in drawing 3 for clarity) of the bag relatively far. The resulting shallower storage space allows the bottles to protrude and offers more opportunities to see the bottle label directly.

Two such bags result in the immediately recognizable standard quantity of six bottles for return. For further design: It is also possible to weld two bags to the upper parts of the pairs of handles to obtain a unit of six or to produce the bag directly as a unit of six.
