The innovation concerns a surfing device for Internet communication with integrated computer components, which can preferably be set up in places of public life that are heavily frequented by people, such as in amusement arcades, train stations, airports and/or ferry ports, motorway service stations, shopping malls, leisure and/or shopping centers, foyers of hotels and department stores, thus enabling all sections of the population to access communication on the Internet.

Access to communication on the Internet is currently only possible in the private or business sector with appropriate access device configurations, i.e. in the private sector a computer and an appropriate modem must be available, and in the business sector access via the company's internal network system.

Access to the Internet is also possible via the mobile network.

In hotels, for example, guests are offered access to the Internet as a

A flat-rate service is offered for a fee, although an exact billing of fees sometimes involves additional effort. However, there are also citizens who, for whatever reason, are unable to communicate via the Internet.

The technical task to be solved by the innovation is to create a surfing device for Internet communication that allows public use by everyone, in the manner of a familiar telephone booth.

This task is solved in accordance with the innovation in that the computer components required for operation of the surfing device for Internet communication are installed in a robustly constructed housing, whereby operation is carried out via a touchscreen monitor, but also with a conventional keyboard, the device works with coins and/or tokens, as well as with value or chip cards, but can also be operated without such a value recording unit, the Internet access time can be changed per coin or value unit, the device is protected against unauthorized access or use with security software and, depending on the intended use, a printer and/or other peripheral devices can be connected. The housing of the device and thus the monitor and/or the operating unit are advantageously designed to be height-adjustable so that physically handicapped people can also operate this device.

The Internet surfing device basically consists of a housing part in which the components required for the function are integrated, namely for the basic version, for example, an Intel Celeron 400 MHz computer with Linux software, 10.2 GB HD, an 8 MB graphics card, an ISDN adapter, as well as appropriate security software against unauthorized access or use and the necessary coin/token or value or chip card checking and recognition unit.

A 17" touchscreen monitor is arranged in the housing in such a way that an ergonomically favorable operating position is possible and at the same time a favorable field of view - glare-free when exposed to external light - can be guaranteed.

If necessary, the monitor is arranged in such a way that no strangers other than the person operating it can view it.

The housing is designed for height adjustment. This means that the working height can be adjusted to suit the height of the operator, i.e. the height adjustment adjusts the height of the field of view of the monitor as well as the height of the control panel.

This is particularly advantageous when physically disabled people, such as

Wheelchair users or people of short stature who want to operate the device.

When using a touchscreen monitor, there is no need for components that are susceptible to damage, such as a mouse and keyboard.

The software is designed in such a way that a relatively simple user interface allows even a user with no computer experience to quickly access the Internet.

Special procedures guarantee that the computer has an identical configuration each time the system is started, and that this configuration does not change over time. In improved versions, the updated device can also be equipped with a floppy disk and/or CD ROM drive, as well as state-of-the-art printing technology.

Claims (2)

Surfing device for Internet communication with integrated computer modules, characterized in that the computer modules required for operation are installed in a robustly constructed housing, whereby operation takes place via a monitor in touchscreen design, but also with a known keyboard, the device works with coins and/or tokens, as well as with value or chip cards, but can also be operated without such a value recording unit, the Internet access time per coin or value unit can be changed, the device is protected against unauthorized access or use with security software and, depending on the intended use, a printer and/or other peripheral devices can be connected. 2. Surfing device for Internet communication with integrated computer modules, according to claim 1, characterized in that the housing of the device and thus the monitor and/or the control unit is adjustable in its/their height.
