Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the principle and the production technology of a novel recharge removable lithium-ion battery (accumulator cell) for information and communication technology of tomorrow, in which a solid electrolyte instead of the usual liquid electrolytes is applied.
Both the electrodes and the electrolyte are manufactured as flexible foils. The accumulators manufactured using this technology and the manufacturing process described offer the following advantages over previous products and processes:
Only non-toxic materials are used that are either harmless can turn or enable easy recovery.
The materials used are relatively inexpensive and uncomplicated to prepare in Ver same as that used in conventional accumulators.
Dadurch ist der Personalaufwand entsprechend gering, so daß sich ein deutli cher Kostenvorteil ergibt.- Compared to foil accumulators with gel or liquid Electrolyte is the process described here much simpler and can be used consistently automate. As a result, the personnel expenditure is correspondingly low, so that there is a clear cher cost advantage.
By using a solid electrolyte, both electronic protection circuits as well as leak-proof housings, which leads to a reduction the weight and manufacturing costs of the finished batteries.
The materials for the cathode, the anode and the electrolyte are each in the form of pastes processed. For this purpose, the ingredients are finely ground and in a suitable solvent Art stirs that homogeneous, viscous pastes are produced. These can either be knew methods manually, e.g. B. by means of a doctor device, or according to the description below These processes are automatically processed into foils.

The automated manufacturing process is implemented on two different machine groups. First, the material strips for the electrochemical components are produced as foils poses. These foil tapes, which can also be stored temporarily, are then in a second automated machine group to complete accumulators (assem blurred).
The manufacturing steps are with "A" and "B" for the film production and with "C" for the Accumulator assembly called.
A current discharge belt, consisting of an expanded aluminum foil, preferably 30 to 50 μm thick and 30 to 70 cm wide, is guided from a roll ( 1 ) through a straightening roller arrangement ( 100 ) under a pasting device ( 101 ). In this pasting device, the paste-prepared cathode material ( 2 ) is pumped from a mixing system ( 4 ). The cathode paste has a moderately viscous consistency. By counter-rotating pasting blades ( 102 ), the cathode paste is pressed onto the aluminum strip passed between the pasting hopper and the counterplate ( 103 ), so that there is an intimate mechanical connection. At the output of the pa bull device ( 101 ), a stripper ( 3 ) determines the thickness of the paste layer. This is preferably 100 to 200 microns. At the same time, the width of the stripes ( 5.2 ) is regulated by the stripper in such a way that a narrow strip ( 5.1 ) remains paste-free next to each of these strips and is used later for attaching the current collector contacts. The pasted tape ( 5 ) is passed through a drying zone ( 6 ), where it is from the solvent contained in the paste medium, for. B. acetone is freed. The solvent can be reused via a recovery system ( 104 ).
The dried film strip is passed under a second pasting device ( 7 ). This unit is filled with electrolyte paste ( 105 ) using a paste mixer ( 8 ). Their consistency corresponds to that of the cathode paste. The electrolyte paste is pressed onto the cathode strip passed between the pastier hopper and the counterplate ( 107 ) by counter-rotating pasting blades ( 106 ). At the exit of the pasting device ( 7 ), a stripper ( 108 ) determines the thickness of the pasted layer, preferably 10 to 50 μm, and the width of the strips ( 9.3 ) corresponding to those of the cathode layer ( 5.2 ). The pasted belt ( 9 ) is passed through a drying zone ( 10 ), where it contains the solvent contained in the paste, e.g. B. acetone is freed. The solvent can be reused via a recovery system ( 108 ).
The dried film ( 109 ) is cut by a separating device with several cutting disks ( 11 ) into as many webs as there are pasted strips and wound onto as many separate spools ( 12 ). These coils can be stored temporarily. For this purpose, they are preferably sealed in a blister pack.

A current conducting tape, consisting of an expanded copper foil, preferably 30 to 50 μm thick and 30 to 70 cm wide, is guided from a roll ( 13 ) through a straightening roller arrangement ( 110 ) under a pasting device ( 111 ). In this pasting device, the anode material ( 15 ) prepared as a paste is pumped from a mixing system ( 14 ). The anode paste has a viscous consistency similar to that of the cathode material. The anode paste is pressed onto the copper layer between the pastier hopper and the counterplate ( 113 ) by counter-rotating pasting blades ( 112 ), so that there is an intimate mechanical connection. At the exit of the pasting device ( 111 ), a stripper ( 16 ) determines the thickness of the paste layer. This is preferably 100 to 250 microns. At the same time, the width of the pasted strips ( 17.2 ) is regulated by the stripper in such a way that a narrow strip ( 17.1 ) remains paste-free next to each of these strips and is used later for attaching the current collector contacts. The width of the pasted strips corresponds to that of the cathode / electrolyte strips minus 1 mm on each side (see "C" detail 24 ). The pasted tape ( 17 ) is passed through a drying zone ( 18 ), where it contains the solvent contained in the paste, e.g. B. acetone is freed. The solvent can be reused via a recovery system ( 114 ).
The dried film is cut by a separating device with several cutting disks ( 19 ) into as many webs as there are pasted strips and wound onto as many separate spools ( 20 ). The coils with the cathode / electrolyte film ( 21 ) and with the anode film ( 29 ) are mounted on an automatic assembly machine. Both film strips pass through a punching device ( 22 ) or ( 30 ). The punching device for the anode tape cuts 2 mm shorter pieces than that for the cathode / electrolyte tape. The cut-to-length film parts ( 23 ) and ( 31 ) are passed with the uncoated edge under a roller seam welding device ( 24 ) or ( 32 ), a current-conducting tab ( 115 ) or ( 116 ) being welded to the corresponding electrode film becomes. In a joining device ( 28 ), the cathode / electrolyte and the anode parts are joined and aligned and then connected in a press ( 33 ) under slight pressure and elevated temperature to an accumulator cell ( 34 ) in such a way that there is a current-conducting tab on both sides and both point in the same direction (see "C" detail 38 ). This cell is immersed in a bath ( 35 ) so that the entire cell, with the exception of the ends of the current conducting tabs, is fully wetted by the liquid. The liquid is a polymer as it is used to seal electronic circuit boards (so-called conformal coating), e.g. B. on the basis of urethane acrylate, which crosslinks after a long time under the influence of heat or UV radiation and thus causes egg nen hermetically sealed, flexible coating of the battery cell. Alternatively, the immersion liquid can also be a two-component epoxy resin that hardens at room temperature.
After the dip coating has set, the battery cell is z. B. printed by means of a tampon printing device ( 36 ) or otherwise marked. To protect against damage during storage and transport, the finished battery cell is welded into a blister pack in a welding device ( 37 ) and passed on to a stacking and packing device ( 38 ).
