Bei Kunststoff- Mehrwegflaschen zeigt sich in der Praxis, daß das Material mit der Zeit schrumpft und/oder das Außengewinde des Fla schenhalses infolge mehrerer Reinigungs- und Wiederbe füllzyklen verschleißt. Auch bei Glasflaschen kann das Au ßengewinde oder der Wulst für den Kronenkorken mit der Zeit verschleißen oder ausbrechen. Bereits bei der Befüllung wird dann die bei Schraubverschlußkappen oder Kronenkorken angestrebte Dichtfunktion nicht mehr zuverlässig erzielt. Weiterhin ist bei Schraubverschlußkappen und Kronenkorken das oberhalb des Füllspiegels eingeschlossene Gas- bzw. Luftvolumen relativ groß. Dies kann gerade bei sauer stoffempfindlichen Getränken wie Bier nachteilig sein, und auch bei anderen CO2-haltigen Getränken, die aufgrund des großen eingeschlossenen und unter Druck stehenden Gasvolu mens beim Öffnen zum Überschäumen neigen.
