Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to devices and Procedure to remind you to take timely Medication by adding "intelligent" medication packaging the recipient automatically on a delayed or failed intake indicates.
Medicines come in different dosage forms delivered to the patient. The substances to be taken are included solid, liquid or gaseous. Common to all drugs, that they are contaminated or damaged by packaging are secured.
It is essential for a successful effect of drugs the prescription intake by the patient. This means, in particular, that the patient takes the dose ordered has to take the ordered times. A problem consists in the fact that the patient is sometimes, partly due to of one's own physical circumstances, partly due to simple Forget about taking the timely self-employed required dose or is simply unable forgets.
To solve this problem in general, the state of the z. B. automatic dosing devices that are independent of a drug the patient's involvement (US 4624661 and US 5368562). This is particularly important in cases where the patient is not able to take it himself.
Of course, the patient can use a Clock or an alarm clock to remind you to take it. This Reminder is regardless of whether the intake is already has taken place. The alarm clock will definitely ring, and the patient must turn it off again.
US 5700998).The prior art also knows methods of taking it to prevent wrong medication by the patient e.g. B. by applying coding information on pill-shaped Medicines (US 5700998).
With some drugs, however, is an exact timing Taking particularly critical. This applies e.g. B. for ingestion contraceptive pills ("contraceptive pill"). With the so-called Micropill must take the drug within 12 To be swallowed hours after the correct time of intake. With the mini pill, there is already a delay in taking by 3 Hours the contraceptive effect within the current cycle no longer exists. In addition to the possible consequences in the form of an unwanted pregnancy affects the Fear of forgetting a timely intake and the resulting consequences the well-being of the patient or the patient.
The object of the present invention is a To provide an apparatus and a method by which the Drug packaging and / or a storage device automatically determine whether the patient is close to Time of withdrawal from the packaging of a prescription has taken the appropriate dose. Shouldn't this removal must be done to the patient or indirectly or directly to other people who care about him care, a warning or reminder signal is issued.
This object is achieved by a device according to claim 1 and solved a method according to claim 13.
The present invention thus provides an apparatus and a Procedures with which the income security of Improve medication and thus the therapeutic benefit can increase, but on the other hand also that The patient's well-being increases because it is stressful for him Fear of forgetting to take it on time decreases.
Increases in an application in a clinic or nursing home the security of care of the patients being cared for, since that Nursing staff is reminded to match. At the same time it lowers Costs in the care of patients, as these are timely Drugs are largely left to your own devices can and only help with delayed intake must be done.
An embodiment of the invention is based on the following Described drawings.
Es zeigen:Show it:
Fig. 1 einen schematische Darstellung des Aufbaus der erfindungsgemäßen Vorrichtung, Fig. 1 is a schematic representation of the construction of the inventive device,
Fig. 2a und b mögliche Ausführungsformen der Verpackungen für pillenförmige Medikamente, Fig. 2a and b show possible embodiments of the packaging for medications pill-shaped,
Fig. 3 eine Aufbewahrungsvorrichtung für pillenförmige Medikamente. Fig. 3 shows a storage device for pill-shaped medication.
In Fig. 1 is a drug to be administered contained in a smart 5 package 10, which is in turn stored in a storage apparatus 11. Via one or more signal lines 15, the storage device either reports the filling status (how many pills are still present in the packaging) or a removal of the entire packaging from the storage position (bottle not currently at the storage location) to a monitoring module 20 . The monitoring module can advantageously form a structural unit with the storage module. The monitoring module was supplied via an external data line 22 with information about which medications, how often, starting from which start time and with what maximum delay. It has an internal memory 26 in which it stores this information, a clock for measuring time 27 , an external or internal power supply and a control processor 28 which carries out the monitoring tasks. The monitoring process is started for a new medicament box by an external start signal 24 . This signal can e.g. B. triggered by a button located on the monitoring module, but also by a sensor that registers the insertion of a completely filled medication box.
Optionally, the monitoring module also compares the type of medication currently being used, which is transmitted by the storage unit via a data line 12 , with external target data transmitted via the data line 22 , in order to ensure that the correct medication is taken.
Optionally, the type of medication and the type of packaging are coded in the packaging unit 10 by barcode, printing, mechanical shaping of the packaging, a magnetic strip on the card or existing conductor track contacts. This coding is read by one or more sensors in the storage unit and passed on via the data line 12 . An input via the external data line 22 is thereby at least partially superfluous.
A delete signal 23 enables the information, the z. B. transmitted by inadvertent removal of a medication package from the storage position to the monitoring module 20 to take back.
If the monitoring module 20 determines that the intake of a medication is delayed beyond the maximum delay stored in the monitoring module 20 , it issues a warning signal via a data line 25 . With this warning signal, a warning system 30 is controlled, the z. B. optically, acoustically, tactilely or electromagnetically reminds the patient of the intake. Specifically, this can be in the form of an optical signal (continuous light, flashing light, flash), in the form of acoustic warnings (sound, recorded warning message) or by electromagnetic transmission to a z. B. at the patient receiving device (cell phone, pager, email, special recipient) or a home communication system.
Advantageous embodiments of an intelligent packaging for storing pill-shaped medications are shown in FIGS . 2a and 2b.
FIG. 2a shows a packaging 240 , as is also used for the administration of birth control pills. Several (in the drawing 9 pieces, in practice approx. 30 pieces) pills 210 are arranged in rows. The pills are placed in the recesses of a plastic cover, which is closed on the back by a metallic layer. Drawing 2a shows that the sealing metallic layer contains additional conductor tracks 220 . These traces can e.g. B. contained in the metallic layer (electrically insulated) or attached as a second layer, again insulated from the metallic layer.
When a pill is removed, the conductor track covering the pill is severed. An electrically conductive connection to the storage device is established via contacts 250 (11 such contacts are present at the edge of the packaging in FIG. 2a), which will be explained in more detail in FIG. 3. These electrical contacts are used to measure the filling of the packaging. For this purpose, the electrical resistances between the input contact 230 and each output contact 250 are measured by a measuring device in the storage device. If one of the resistances is very high, the associated pill has been removed and the conductor track has been interrupted. If one of the resistors is close to 0, the associated pill is still included in the packaging. The filling level of the pack can be determined in each case by counting the signals of pills still contained. A reference output signal 260 can additionally be used to detect correct contacting of the packaging in the storage device. The arrangement has the advantage of being able to measure the filling very precisely and reliably, but requires a large number of contacts.
FIG. 2b shows a further possible embodiment of an intelligent packaging. With this, the number of contacts is greatly reduced (3 contacts regardless of the number of packed pills). If a pill is removed, the conductor track is also interrupted again at this point (e.g. point 281 ). However, since for each pill there is also a second conductor track which bypasses the pill (in the example 280 ), this does not lead to a total interruption of the circuit, but only to an increase in the resistance between contacts 230 and 270 . In order to achieve suitable values for increasing the resistance when a conductor track is interrupted, the intact conductor tracks 280 must have a sufficiently high residual resistance or, if necessary, be equipped with additional resistors. From the size of the total resistance (if necessary again using login technology in the storage device and using the reference resistance between contacts 230 and 260 ), the number of pills still in the package can be determined with a known type of package. It is particularly advantageous here that, due to the only three contacts required, on the one hand no space problems occur when tapping the contact and on the other hand the contacting can be made independent of the type of pack and medication.
There are a number of modifications for smart packaging conceivable. So the electrical contacts do not have to be necessary over the edge of the packaging, but can be over Styli also at any point on the packaging be worn out.
A filling can also be determined optically with the Advantage that no modifications to the packaging are necessary are. In the simplest case, this can be done in the Storage device on the right side of the packaging lighting should be appropriate. On the left side of the Packaging can then be detected with a photo cell whether Light arrives (if the pill has already been removed) or not (Pill still in packaging). Such detection devices can be Build technology very interference-free. This can also be solved Problem using a flat image sensor (e.g. CCD-Ma trixkamera) and corresponding image evaluation algorithms. This last arrangement has the advantage of being very flexible with to be able to handle different types of packaging, is causing even higher costs for that at the moment Storage device.
It is also possible to provide the exact position of the pills for various medicament packs via the data line 12 and to use them for an automatic adaptation of the storage device in such a way that the storage device searches for the pills at precisely these locations.
An example of the mechanical shape of a storage device 320 can be seen in FIG. 3. The introduced medication packaging 310 is a foil packaging and in this case contains individual pills 330 . The film packaging is coated with conductor tracks 340 , which were already described in detail in FIGS. 2a and 2b and can only be seen here in a side view. At their contact positions, the conductor tracks are picked up by several (here one behind the other) reading contacts 370 in the storage device. A spring 350 ensures that the electrical contact is good by pressure. The electrical signal is led to the evaluation unit via signal lines 360 , which correspond to the signal lines 15 from FIG. 1.
An application example for the use of the invention Process is also given by the above statements.
