Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a hand-held device for therapeutic treatment of organic tissue using laser beams using two or more laser diodes, a beam exit lens system for each Laser diode, an off-grid energy storage, one electrical / electronic switching and control device, an actuation and Display device and one of the aforementioned parts Casing.
Such devices are for example from the European patent application 0 416 150, U.S. Patent 5,464,436 and German Utility Model 295 18 120 known. They are all for relatively small ones Treatment areas designed, which limits their scope is. The treatment of larger diseased tissue areas is not or only possible with an unreasonably high expenditure of time. Is the device with a immutable optical system for influencing the laser beam equipped, you can change the treatment distance the size between the tissue area to be treated and the handheld device change the irradiated area, but must accept that the Radiation intensity decreases with the square of the distance, so that at larger irradiated areas no longer have a sufficient therapeutic effect can be achieved. The same applies to devices with a changeable optical system (EP 0 416 150 A1), because here too an enlargement of the irradiated area ultimately only with an extension of the radiation path can be achieved.
On the other hand, the laser power that can be achieved with handheld devices is of this depending on how much space for storing energy storage Can be made available. It makes sense that small handheld devices with the dimensions of a cell phone or a cigarette box only limited amounts of energy can be accommodated and that with such devices consequently only a relatively small laser power in the range of 2- 20 milliwatts can be achieved if it is also required that the Energy reserve should be sufficient for a predetermined total treatment period.
The invention has for its object a handheld device of the beginning described in such a way that it can also be used for treatment larger tissue areas is suitable without having to use long radiation paths corresponding loss of performance must be used.
To solve this problem, it is proposed that the housing a Attachment part accommodating lens systems and one the other parts receiving base includes.
With such a handheld device, it is very easily possible through the Use of attachments with different lens systems to irradiate differently sized treatment areas without using different distances between the tissue surface to be treated and the handheld device must be worked. The optical coupling to the Laser diodes are very short paths, so that unnecessary losses are avoided can be. Instead of a plug-on part with lens systems, a Plug-on part with an optical coupling element can be used from which the laser beams via light guides to distribution blocks with beam exit lenses systems are forwarded. Another modification of the The idea of the invention is that instead of a plug-on part two Arms containing laser diodes and beam exit lens systems are provided on a rest position in the housing in a working position are pivotable in which the emerging laser beams parallel or slightly are converging.
Other advantageous refinements of the inventive concept are described in subclaims 2-14. Further details are explained in more detail using the exemplary embodiments shown in FIGS. 1-7.

For a number of years, radiation from so-called soft lasers has been used Services in the range up to 10 milliwatts successfully in medicine, used especially for the treatment of various skin diseases.
Laser beams with a wavelength of 632.8 nm are preferred used with significant success, for example in treatment from herpes zoster, herpes simplex, warts, burns, UV radiation intolerance and the like can be achieved.
Fig. 1 shows a suitable for such purposes handset in size, the housing 7 of a plug-on part 8 and consists of a base part 9. The hand-held device has an essentially cuboid housing with two main surfaces and two long and short narrow surfaces, the exit side for the laser radiation being arranged in one of the short narrow surfaces 10 . The view of one of the main surfaces is shown, in which the actuating devices 5 and the display device 6 are also accommodated. The hand-held device shown is designed for the arrangement of five laser diodes and accordingly has five switches in the upper row of the actuating device, with which the laser diode can be switched on and off individually. In addition to the display device 6 , a slide switch with a number scale is provided in the lower row, by means of which the duration of treatment can be adjusted.
From the schematically simplified depiction of Fig. 2 results in the arrangement of the laser diode 1 and the beam exit lens systems 2, wherein said laser diodes are five with five associated lens systems provided 2 1. The laser diodes 1 , the associated electrical / electronic switching and control devices 4 and a network-independent energy store 3 are accommodated in the base part 9 of the housing 7 , on which a plug connection 3 'is also provided for recharging the energy store 3 . The lens systems 2 are accommodated in the plug-on part 8 , which also contains the short narrow surface 10 , through which the laser beams emerge. A separating joint 13 runs between the plug-on part 8 and the base part 9 .
Das Strahlaustritts-Linsensystem befindet sich im Aufsteckteil 8.From the schematic sectional view according to FIG. 3 it can be seen in particular that the two main surfaces of the housing 7, starting from the base thickness of the housing 7 , have regions 11 , 12 converging towards the smaller width of the short narrow surface 10 . In addition, it is clear from Fig. 3 that two groove-like recesses 14 , 15 extending transversely to its longitudinal direction are provided in the housing, in which the actuating and display devices 5 , 6 can be received. The parting line 13 between the plug-on part 8 and the base part 9 is arranged in the regions 11 , 12 of the housing 7 which run towards one another. In the base part 9 , the electrical / electronic switching and control devices 4 and the network-independent energy store in the form of two batteries 3 are arranged. The beam exit lens system is located in the plug-on part 8 .
Fig. 4 shows schematically simplified a section through a plug-on part 8 'with optical coupling elements 16 and through distributor blocks 18 , in which means 19 are provided for distributing the laser beams arriving via light guides 17 to beam exit lens systems 2 '. Each distributor block contains five lens systems 2 ', which are arranged in a row according to FIG. 4. This results in a very elongated, narrow exit surface for the laser beams. The distributor blocks 18 can be plugged together in a manner known per se by means of mechanical plug connections. In FIG. 5, the manifold blocks are arranged adjacent to one another with their longitudinal edges 18, so that a compact rectangular exit face is obtained for the laser beams. The reference numerals in FIG. 5 have the same meaning as in FIG. 4.
In Fig. 6, another embodiment of the inventive concept is shown in three views in size. FIG. 6a is a view of the front of the substantially rectangular parallelepiped-shaped housing with the actuating means 5 'and the display device 6'. In the base part 9 'of the housing, recesses 22 are provided on both longitudinal sides, the arrangement and size of which can be seen from FIGS. 6b and 6c. In the recesses arms 21 with laser diodes and beam exit lens systems 2 '' are arranged, which can be pivoted from a rest position according to FIG. 6 into a working position according to FIG. 7. In the working position, the arms 21 either lie in such a way that the emerging laser beams run essentially parallel to one another, or in such a way that the laser beams are aligned in a slightly converging manner (dashed lines in FIG. 7a). In the present case, two laser diodes are provided, each with five lens systems 2 ″, which can be switched on and off separately via the switches of the actuating device 5 , designated L and R, respectively. In addition, the actuating device 5 has a slide switch with a numerical scale, via which the duration of treatment can be adjusted. The reference numerals used in FIGS . 6a, b, c and 7a, b have the same meaning.
In addition to the lens systems 2 ″, a flexible, extendable light guide 23 can also be provided, which is optically coupled to one of the laser diodes and has an exit lens system at the end. Such a light guide 23 is provided for both arms 21 in FIG. 6c.
