Abstract

An air filter, esp. a filter for a combustion engine, comprises an exchangeable filter insert held by a frame, which in turn is located in the filter housing. A seal (6) is located against the frame (5) and the filter insert (4), and prevents bypass flow. The seal is fixed to the frame but not the insert. Use - Used as an air filter, eg for combustion engines. Advantage - The filter insert is simple to change.

Description

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Luftfilter gemäß dem Oberbegriff des Patentanspruchs 1. Im Einsatz befindliche, nach diesem Prinzip aufgebaute Luftfilterkonstruktionen zeigt beispielsweise die EP 0 478 895 B1. Der auswechselbare Filtereinsatz ist von einem Rahmen aufgenommen, der in Richtung Frischluftseite offen ist, so daß der Filtereinsatz nach Öffnen des Filtergehäuses aus dem Rahmen herausgenommen und durch einen anderen ersetzt werden kann. Zur Unterbindung von den Filtereinsatz überbrückenden Strömungswegen, durch die ungereinigte Luft transportiert werden könnte, ist an der Filterreinluftseite eine umlaufende Dichtung derart angeordnet, daß sie sich mit Flanschbereichen außer auf einen schmalen Randbereich des Filtereinsatzes auf eine Stirnfläche des Rahmens dichtend legt; auf der diesen Auflageflächen gegenüberliegenden Seite liegt die Dichtung ebenfalls dichtend an einem Flansch eines Reinluftrohres des Filtergehäuses an.The invention relates to an air filter according to the preamble of claim 1.
