Abstract
Description
There is currently no large-scale manufacturing process in the prior art of cellulose carbamate. Accordingly, there are none in the prior art Information about a corresponding processing of cellulose carbamate, for example wise from the reaction medium.
In an in-house production of cellulose carbamate on a laboratory scale the preparation is operated according to the following procedure. So the reaction mixture by means of a filter from the bulk of the solvent contained therein, for example, xylene. Then the cellulose carbamate with the rest Solvent and the remaining urea suspended in water. This watery Suspension is separated from the rest in a two-stage reaction carrier stripping Free solvent. The solvent and water vapor are overhead subtracted and separated. The rest of the urea is made from the mixture Cellulose carbamate and urea solution by filtration and by washing with Water removed. The urea solution must be used to recover dry Be urea evaporated. The cellulose carbamate is dried by drying free adhering water.
aktivierte Gemisch Cellulose/Harnstoff.
A method is known from DE 196 28 277.2 in which an activated cellulose / urea mixture is produced by an explosive process in the presence of liquid ammonia. The cellulose is brought into contact with the liquid ammonia at an initial pressure which is higher than atmospheric pressure and at a temperature of at least about 25 ° C. in the presence of the urea. The amount of liquid ammonia is at least sufficient to wet the surface of the cellulose. The volume available to the cellulose / urea / liquid ammonia system is explosively increased by lowering the pressure by at least 0.5 MPa (5 bar). This creates the activated cellulose / urea mixture. This activated cellulose / urea mixture contains crystalline cellulose which can be detected by means of an X-ray diffraction spectrum. This is characterized by an X-ray diffraction spectrum with peaks at the following diffraction angles 2 θ and with the relative intensities:
Peak 20,5±1 der relativen Intensität 100 (Bezugsgröße).Peak 11.25 ± 1 of relative intensity from about 15 to 25,
Peak 17 ± 1 of the relative intensity of about 25 to 40 and
Peak 20.5 ± 1 of relative intensity 100 (reference value).
Bei der oben beschriebenen Verfahrensweise fällt demzufolge Cellulose carbamat an, das in einer inerten Flüssigkeit suspendiert ist.10 parts by weight of cellulose preferably account for at least about 2 Parts by weight, especially about 4 parts by weight of urea. Advantageously this activated cellulose / urea mixture into an inert liquid organic Transferred reaction carrier and the reaction mixture to an elevated temperature, preferably heated from about 120 to 150 ° C, in particular from more than about 130 ° C. DE 196 28 277.2 states that the inert organic reaction carrier in Is removed in the usual way, which is preferably mixed with water and the mixture is removed azeotropically. The inert liquid is expediently organic reactants a linear or branched alkane and / or alkyl aromatic hydrocarbon, each with a boiling point of 100 to 185 ° C at atmospheric pressure, and / or 1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalene or decahydronaph thalin with a boiling point of more than 185 ° C. Of these, xylene in particular prefers. Accordingly, cellulose falls in the procedure described above carbamate suspended in an inert liquid.
There was now a need for an industrial process, one simple, fast and economical production of the cellulose carbamate from the addressed inert liquid allows, with pure cellulose carbamate in the desirable dry form.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by a method for obtaining Cellulose carbamate dissolved, which is characterized in that the cellulose carbamate is suspended in an inert liquid which is used in the preparation of the Cellulose carbamate contains unreacted residual urea, and that this Suspension filtered to obtain the cellulose carbamate and thus largely from residual urea and the inert liquid is freed.
When in the context of the present invention of an "inert liquid" is spoken, this term is to be understood as far as possible. The treatment of cellulose carbamate in such a liquid does not lead to any chemical Change. The following treatment measures also remain the cellulose carbamate unchanged in its chemical structure. It can happen in particular to the above in connection with the state of the Technology treated inert, liquid organic reaction carriers, where as inert, liquid reaction medium, in particular xylene and toluene, optionally in Mixing, are preferred.
According to the proposal according to the invention, the Suspen addressed is first sion, which contains cellulose carbamate suspended in the inert liquid, filtered. The filtration is preferably carried out using a screen belt press. This filtration is Advantageously, a "pre-drainage" upstream, already before the Filtration of at least part of the inert liquid by means of a per se Drainage used drum is removed. Both at the Pre-dewatering as well as in the filtration it is advisable that the system be inert Liquid / cellulose carbamate in the form of a hot reaction carrier dispersion Temperature of about 135 ° C., especially with xylene as the inert reaction carrier, Will get removed. Thereby, both the measure of "pre-drainage" as well in the filtration of liquid inert reaction carriers, in particular in the form of xylene, returned to the overall system, preferably not for energy reasons cooled or hot form. The cellulose carbamate obtained during filtration is then in a suitable form, in particular using a screw or a rotary drum dryer. Here gaseous inert falls Reaction carrier on, which advantageously condenses and the above Recycle stream is fed to a liquid inert reaction carrier.
For further optimization of the method according to the invention, it is preferred that the dried cellulose carbamate to remove adhering remaining Urea with an alcohol, e.g. B. with methanol, ethanol, propanol and / or Butanol, especially with methanol, is washed. The washing takes place expediently by means of a belt washer. The alcohol removed is the Wash system fed again.
The filtrate from the mentioned filtration measure contains an alcoholic one Solution of urea. Here it offers itself for further optimization, the Evaporate alcohol, then condense and again in liquid form to feed the washing process. The urea that crystallizes out on evaporation can be used for common uses, but especially in the Complete system for the implementation with cellulose, if necessary according to the above Explosion procedures, are returned. The filter residue in the addressed Filtration essentially consists of cellulose carbamate with adhering residual amounts of alcohol. In order to remove this, drying follows, in particular using a screw or rotary drum dryer. The dry cellulose carbamat is removed. The alcohol, especially methanol, becomes a vapor deducted and transferred to the condensation stage already mentioned, after which to be returned to alcohol washing in liquid form.
The process according to the invention can be carried out with regard to xylene, which is preferably is used as follows: The cellulose carbamate is made of xylene and Excess urea freed and leaves the plant as a dried product. For this purpose, the reaction mixture is preferably first of all part or Most of the inert reaction carrier, for example by a "drainage drum "is removed. Then the xylene content is further filtered, rather a pressing process, further reduced. In a subsequent drying process, this becomes remaining xylene completely expelled from the cellulose carbamate. The dry one Cellulose carbamate with urea still adhering is washed with freed especially of methanol from adhering urea. After a subsequent one Filtration, rather a pressing process, and drying leaves the cellulose carbamate the system as a ready-to-use product.
The alcohol-urea solution, especially methanol Urea solution is freed from the urea by crystallization. This will reused within the process while the alcohol, in particular Methanol, is returned to the washing process.
Es fällt ein hochreines Endprodukt an.The particular advantages associated with the present invention are above all to be seen in that compared to the separation described above State of the art measures significantly lower energy consumption sets. In the known method can by evaporation of an aqueous Urea solution disadvantageously arise biuret, which is very expensive must be won. This effect occurs in the method according to the invention not on. This therefore represents a simple and economically favorable Process for the production of pure cellulose carbamate without disadvantageous By-products such as biuret arise which would be difficult to remove. It occurs high purity end product.
The invention is further explained below using an example:
Nach dem Trocknen fällt reines Cellulosecarbamat an.A suspension of xylene and suspended cellulose carbamate and the rest A large part of the xylene is used at a temperature of 135 ° C removed using a "drainage drum". That is the drainage drum leaving product is filtered on a belt press. The liquid xylene, the These two measures result in uncooled in the overall system returned. The residue of filtration, which is still on cellulose carbamate contains adhering xylene and urea, is by means of a screw dryer dried. Gaseous xylene is condensed and the above described liquid xylene stream supplied. The dried product that still Contains residual urea, is washed on a belt washer with methanol. It this is followed by filtration on a belt press. One is deducted methanolic solution of urea. The methanol is evaporated, then condensed and fed back to the methanol wash. The evaporation of the Methanol leads to crystallization of the urea, which restores the entire system can be supplied to cellulose carbamate by reaction with cellulose to manufacture. The residue with adhering methanol is in a snail dryer freed of methanol. The vaporous methanol is condensed and fed to the methanol wash. After drying, pure cellulose carbamate is obtained.
