In den Fig. 1 bis 3 ist an einer Messerwalze 1, z. B. für einen Gleichlaufquerschneider der papierverarbeitenden Industrie, eine Messerleiste 2 auf nicht dargestellte Weise befe stigt ist, z. B. angeschraubt. Beide Bauteile bilden einen Halter für ein Messer. Auf der Messerleiste 2 liegt ein Messer 3 auf, dessen Abmessungen längs der Schneide 4 (in Fig. 1 senkrecht zur Zeichenebene) im Vergleich zu seiner Breite und Höhe groß sind. In der Leiste 2 befindet sich eine Ausnehmung in Form einer im wesentlichen rechteckförmigen Nut 6, die sich in Fig. 1 in senkrechter Richtung zur Zeichenebene und parallel zum Mes ser 3 erstreckt. Die Messerwalze 1 ist mit einer Bohrung 7 versehen, in die ein Befesti gungselement in Form eines Gewindebolzens 8 hineinragt. Ein Schraubenkopf 9 liegt auf einer Unterlegscheibe 11 in einer Ausnehmung 12 des Messers 3 auf. Das Außengewinde des Gewindebolzens 8 ist in ein Innengewinde eines Spannelementes in Form einer Hülse 13 eingeschraubt. Die Hülse 13 weist einen Kopf 14 auf, dessen Abmessungen - wie Fig. 2 zeigt - in Richtung senkrecht zur Zeichenebene der Fig. 1 größer sind als in der in Fig. 1 dargestellten Ebene. Dies bedeutet, daß die Hülse 13 beim Drehen des Schraubenkop fes 9 sich nicht verdrehen kann und beim Spannen nach oben bewegt wird, bis der Kopf 14 sich von unten in der gezeichneten Lage an die Fläche 16 der Messerleiste 2 anlegt und verspannt werden kann. Bei einem Verzug des Messers 3 in Längsrichtung kann daher der Bolzen 8 der Bohrung in Richtung des Doppelpfeils 20 leicht folgen, ohne daß wegen der danach gespannten Hülse 13, die sich in der Nut 6 formschlüssig an die Messerleiste 2 anlegt, eine Nachbearbeitung erforderlich ist oder die Bohrung 17 in Längserstreckung des Messers 3 zu groß gemacht werden muß, was die Sicherheit der Befestigung beeinträchti gen könnte.In Figs. 1 to 3 is attached to a knife roller 1, z.
