Description
The invention relates to an overlocking machine for the automatic production of Seams in connection with a holding device for fixing the Sewing material cuts that, due to their function, are brought very close to the needle must according to the preamble of claim 1.
A generic, commercially available sewing machine for producing an overlock stitch of type 504 according to ISO 4915-1981 , as described, for example, in DE 35 12 775, has a bottom and a top looper as essential stitch formation elements in addition to a needle. In these machines, the lower looper is located on a carrier which is attached to an oscillating shaft which is arranged in the sewing direction. The shape of the lower looper and its necessary swinging movement between the needle and the upper looper require a considerable installation space transversely to the sewing direction outside the needle plane, which is completely unsuitable for the automatic production of three-dimensional objects made of sewing material in connection with a holding device for fixing the blanks.
The invention is therefore based on the object of an overlock sewing machine create, whose stitching elements are arranged so that the sewing machine on an external sewing material holding device during the sewing process except for one Distance to the needle of approx. 10 mm can be brought up. This task will in the generic sewing machine by the characteristic features of Claims 1 to 3 solved.
The arrangement of the lower looper shaft transverse to the sewing direction ensures that the lower looper swings in the sewing direction and therefore no significant installation space across the sewing direction next to the needle. So that the looper thread but can be taken over by the top gripper and this without colliding with the Sewing material for the purpose of stitch formation from a position below the stitch plate in a position above the throat plate is next to the lower looper an oscillating movement is superimposed on a transverse movement to the sewing direction. Further details of the invention can be found in the following description, in which the invention is explained in more detail using sketches.

Fig. 4: die schematische Vorderansicht der Überwendlichnähmaschine Fig. 4: the schematic front view of the overlock sewing machine
16. The essential elements for forming overlock stitches are shown in FIG. 1. These are the needle 1 , the lower gripper 2 with the carrier 3 and the gripper shaft 4 and the upper gripper 5 with the carrier 6 and the gripper shaft 7 . For the automatic production of closing seams by means of overlock sewing machines, the sewing material 8 is fixed on a holding device 9 . The sewing material ends 10 ; 11 are generally only a few millimeters from the holding device 9 , so that the sewing machine is forced to bring its needle 1 very close to the holding device 9 . However, this is only possible if the movement path of the lower gripper 2 lies essentially to the right of the needle 1 (see FIG. 2). An elliptical trajectory was therefore chosen for the lower gripper. The lower looper then takes over the needle thread loop when it has roughly reached its left reversal point. This movement path of the lower gripper is achieved in that it is driven by a rotary sliding shaft 4 which is arranged transversely to the sewing direction. To realize the stitch pattern 504 (see FIG. 3), it is necessary that the elements involved lead the needle and the two looper threads to loops 12 , 13 and 14 . The loop 12 arises from the takeover of the needle thread by the lower looper 2 just described. To form the loop 13 , the lower looper 2 moves on the elliptical path counter to the sewing direction into the interior of the machine until the upper looper 5 , which also has an elliptical path with a small semiaxis, takes over the lower looper thread at the common crossing point. The elliptical path of the top gripper 5 is also realized by a rotary sliding shaft 7 , the movement of which is opposite to the shaft 4 . The loop 14 is formed when the needle thread 1 takes over the upper looper thread at its common crossing point. Until then, the top gripper 5 must continue its movement from a position below the throat plate by a corresponding rotary and sliding movement into a position above the throat plate. The drive for the oscillating and offset movement of both grippers is carried out by the common drive 15 or 16 .
