Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for producing a artificial lens.
To make an artificial lens, also known as an intraocular lens , the curvature becomes, for example, in four points by means of keratometry of the cornea and the approximate curvature by extrapolation of the entire corneal surface. They also use biometrics measure the distances between the anterior corneal surface, lens and retina in order to by means of the average corneal curvature the curvature or Determine the refractive power of the lens so that parallel incidences on the cornea Rays intersect at a point on the retina.
This procedure is for a cornea with a very even curvature suitable. However, since the corneal curvature is usually in the area of total corneal area is different in practice in certain Parallel rays incident on corneal areas are not at the desired point focused.
The invention is therefore based on the object of proposing a method, which allows parallel rays to enter the entire cornea to focus on one point (also depending on the object itself) (Snell's law).
This problem is solved with a method in which for a variety of Points on the cornea of an eye the corneal curvature is measured the distances along the beam path of incident rays between the cornea, Inserted lens and retina measured from the corneal curvature for everyone Point the angle of refraction is calculated, the curvature of each one point calculated on the cornea corresponding point on the lens surface is that rays incident on the cornea intersect at one point and with the calculated values a device for producing a artificial lens is driven.
The method according to the invention has the advantage that as many points as desired The cornea can be measured to ensure accuracy for shaping to increase the lens surface. In particularly important areas, such as Example the central area, a lot of points can be calculated while in the border area, the calculation of a few points can suffice. Also when measuring or previously determined deformations of the cornea can be taken into account in the method according to the invention by especially many points are measured in this area. With The lens produced by the process is therefore precisely tailored to the individual Adjusted cornea and can therefore deform the cornea compensate.
The number of measured points on the cornea can be increased as desired. Preferably, however, more than 20 points should be measured in order to to achieve an acceptable result.
In order to quickly measure a large number of points, it is proposed that the corneal curvature is analyzed topometrically. The topometry allows a very precise measurement of the entire corneal surface and is therefore for the method according to the invention is particularly suitable.
The distances along the beam path of incident rays between the cornea, The lens and retina to be used are preferably measured biometrically. This is a simple, well-researched, and particularly accurate procedure for such measurements.
A further increase in accuracy can be achieved in that the Corneal thickness is measured at several points. Usually at Manufacture and also the implantation of artificial lenses not the corneal thickness specially considered. However, since it is known that the thickness of the cornea Varying over the area, it is advantageous to additionally increase the corneal thickness measured and when calculating the curvature of the lens surface consider.
Depending on the support of the artificial lens, the artificial lens can be shaped that the intersection of the rays incident on the cornea before or behind the retina lies. An intersection on the retina is advantageous, preferably in the yellow spot.
In principle, one side of the artificial lens of the topometry is sufficient Shape the cornea accordingly. Especially when stronger ones are needed However, it is often deformation or for manufacturing reasons cheap if the front and back of the lens are individually shaped and the curvatures of the front and back of the lens be calculated.
For people who are different due to presbyopia for distance and proximity Need glasses, it is recommended that the curvature of the at the Cornea adapted lens surface is additionally calculated so that a Progressive, bi- or multifocal effect arises.
In addition, the invention has for its object a device for To propose an artificial lens that allows bumps on the cornea.
This object is achieved with a device for producing a artificial lens with an input unit for entering the corneal curvature and the location of a variety of points on the cornea and the Distances between cornea, lens to be used and retina; with a Calculator for calculating the angle of refraction for each of these points and the Curvature of any point on the cornea corresponding to a point on the cornea Lens surface and a device for producing the artificial lens according to the calculated values.
Such a device allows, on the basis of the necessary, for example, data from a special person determined by the optician or ophthalmologist Eye to create an individual lens, the bumps on the cornea compensates. The measured values can, for example, on a diskette or be transmitted online to the lens manufacturer, which is one of the values corresponding lens produces.
The device for producing the artificial lens preferably has Laser devices for cutting the lens. Allow laser devices precise control of cuts and are therefore particularly suitable on the Based on given data, a corresponding lens automatically to cut.
The lens produced in this way can be averaged on rings around the Focus should be kept focused. However, higher accuracy will achieved when the lens is not concentric, but as precisely as possible Cornea is designed accordingly. In this case, the lens created using auxiliary instruments or suspension devices in a precisely defined Alignment can be used in the human eye, since a small one Twisting the lens nullifies the exact adjustment to the cornea makes. It is therefore proposed to mark the lens produced to be provided, which facilitates the alignment of the lens when inserting the lens.
The inventive method and an embodiment for Device according to the invention are shown in the drawings and in following described in more detail.
Es zeigt,It shows,
Fig. 1 shows a horizontal, schematic section through the right eyeball, seen from above.
Fig. 2 eine schematische Darstellung der Vorrichtung. Fig. 2 is a schematic representation of the device.
The eye 1 shown in Fig. 1 consists essentially of the cornea 2, the artificial lens 3 and the retina. 4 Rays 5 , 6 , 7 , incident at the same time, hit the cornea 2 at points 8 , 9 , 10 , go through the cornea into the anterior chamber 11 , hit the front side of the lens 12 , go through the artificial lens 3 and pass through it Rear of lens 13 in glass body 14 . In the further course through the vitreous, the rays 5 , 6 , 7 emerging from the artificial lens are deflected such that they meet at a common intersection 15 .
In the case of a spherically curved cornea 2 , the corneal curvature can be measured, for example, keratometrically at one or a few points in order to determine the lens curvature of the artificial lens 3 in such a way that rays 5 , 6 , 7 incident in parallel ideally intersect the yellow one at an intersection point in this example Hit spot 15 .
However, it is problematic if the cornea 2 has a different curvature as in point 8 or, as in point 10 , an increased thickness. At these points, the cornea 2 is not completely spherical and the incident rays are refracted so that they no longer meet at point 15 after passing through the artificial lens. It is therefore proposed according to the invention that the lens surface 12 , 13 is designed such that deviations in the corneal curvature or the corneal thickness are compensated for by the surface design on the artificial lens. In this case, either only one side of the lens of the cornea can be processed accordingly, or the front 12 and the back 13 can be varied as shown on the beam path 7 in such a way that small changes in the curvatures on the artificial lens 3 make special features in the area of the cornea 2 be balanced. For example, the curvature can also be compensated with one side of the lens 3 and the thickness of the cornea with the other side of the lens 3 .
To calculate the curvature of each point on the lens surface 12 , 13 corresponding to a point 8 , 9 , 10 on the cornea 2 , it is necessary to determine the distances along the beam path of incident rays 5 , 6 , 7 between the cornea 2 , lens 3 and retina 4 to be inserted to measure. These data can be determined by means of the biometry, which specifies the distances between the cornea 2 , front 12 of the artificial lens 3 , back 13 of the artificial lens 3 and the retina to an accuracy of one tenth of a millimeter.
If these data are known, the exact curvature of the cornea 2 over the entire surface of the cornea 2 can be determined by means of the topometry over a plurality of points 8 , 9 , 10 in order to determine the refraction angle in that of the points 8 , 9 , 10 determine. The accuracy of the measurement is further increased by additionally determining the corneal thickness in each of the points 8 , 9 , 10 .
The values calculated in this way are used to control a device 20 for producing an artificial lens, which creates an artificial lens from the measured and calculated values.
In the exemplary embodiment, several thousand points are measured topometrically on the cornea 3 and the relevant values are calculated in a model. The intersection is on the retina, preferably in the yellow spot. Understandably, the curvature of the lens surface can also be calculated in individual cases so that the intersection point 15 lies at a different location on the retina or in front of or behind the retina.
With the described method, ametropia that can be attributed to a not exactly spherical, aspherical or irregular curvature of the incident rays or to short or long eyes (axis ametropia) can be compensated. Defective vision as a result of inadequate adaptation of the artificial lens to different viewing distances is compensated in the present example by a disproportionate curvature of the artificial lens 3 in its central region 16 on its front side 12 .
The deformations on the cornea 2 and the surfaces 12 , 13 of the artificial lens 3 are shown disproportionately enlarged in order to be visible.
Fig. 2 shows schematically a device 20 for cutting the artificial lens 3. This device 20 consists of an input unit 21 for entering the corneal curvature and the location of a multiplicity of points 8 , 9 , 10 on the cornea 2 as well as the distances between the cornea 2 , the lens 3 to be inserted and the retina 4 . This input unit is designed for mechanical input. In addition, however, an entry online or via previously labeled data carriers is also possible, which allows the large number of required data to be entered into the device 20 in the shortest possible time.
The computer 22 connected to the input unit 21 is used to determine the refraction angles for each of these points 8 , 9 , 10 from predetermined fixed values and the values entered, and from this to determine the curvature of each point on the lens surface 12 corresponding to a point on the cornea 2 To calculate 13 .
These calculated values are now fed to a device 23 for cutting the artificial lens 3 from a blank 24 , which cuts the lens 3 calculated for an individual use from the blank 24 by means of laser devices. A marking 25 is created by a small notch on the peripheral edge 26 of the lens 3 . This notch does not affect the function of the lens 3 . However, it shows the doctor who uses the lens how to align the lens which can be rotated about its central axis 27 .
