Description

Krankengymnastiker und Masseure setzen bei der Therapie von schmerzenden Muskeln und Sehnen im Rücken- und Schulterbereich Bälle (Tennisbälle) verschiedener Größe ein.
Dabei muß der Patient, auf dem Boden liegend den Oberkörper auf dem Ball verschieben, bis dieser auf die schmerzende Stel­ le zu liegen kommt. Der Druck soll so lange ausgeübt werden, bis der Schmerz nachläßt.
Die Dosierung des Druckes erfolgt durch Anheben oder Verla­ gerung des Oberkörpers.
Diese Art der Behandlung ist sehr unbequem und erfordert ein erhebliches Maß an körperlicher Fitness, über das insbesonders ältere Menschen - die hiervon besonders betroffen sind - nicht mehr verfügen.
Mit der Ballmassagenplatte wird - bequem im Sessel gerade oder geneigt sitzend - der gleiche heilende Effekt erzielt.
Der Ball wird auf einer flach-balligen Unterlage (Platte) allseitig leicht verschiebbar (siehe Zeichnung) - gehalten. Diese Unterlage ist erforderlich, weil der Ball sich sonst im weichen Sesselteil zu stark eindrücken würde und somit der notwendige Druck auf die schmerzende Stelle nicht erzeugt werden könnte.
Mittels eines gekrümmten Führungsarmes, der an der Platte be­ festigt ist, wird die Ballmassagenplatte über die Schulter zur schmerzenden Stelle geführt.
Der notwendige - und noch erträgliche - Druck kann jetzt leicht durch Veränderung der Sitzposition erreicht werden.
Selbst querschnittsgelähmte Patienten können die Ballmassagen­ platte problemlos handhaben.
Da Massagen durch Kostendruck der Krankenkassen zunehmend we­ niger verschrieben werden, ist der Patient immer mehr gezwun­ gen zur Selbsthilfe zu greifen.
Dazu soll das Ballmassagengerät beitragen.

Claims (1)

  1. Ballmassagengerät, bestehend aus einem Ball auf einer flachballigen, kreisförmigen oder mit abgerundeten Kanten versehenen Grundplatte, an der ein gekrümm­ ter Führungsarm befestigt ist.
