Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a foaming agent for the production of Extinguishing foam. Foam agents are additives to the extinguishing water for the production of extinguishing foam.
These are pre-formulated concentrates, which are generally dosed at 3 % by volume. In special cases, other additions are used, e.g. B. 1 vol .-%, 4 vol .-% or 6 vol .-%. Through the use of different foam devices, light, normal or heavy foam is obtained with a corresponding addition of the foam agent.
Schaummittel für Löschzwecke sind seit langem bekannt und in folgende Gattungen eingeteilt:Foaming agents for extinguishing purposes have long been known and divided into the following categories:
- - Protein-Schaummittel,- protein foaming agents,
- - Mehrbereichs-Schaummittel,- multigrade foam,
- - filmbildende-Schaummittel,- film-forming foaming agents,
- - Fluorprotein-Schaummittel,- fluoroprotein foaming agents,
- - filmbildende Fluorprotein-Schaummittel.- Film-forming fluoroprotein foaming agents.
So far, extinguishing agents have mainly been optimized with regard to their extinguishing performance. Environmental aspects have played a subordinate role. All foam agents currently used in fire protection technology are environmentally hazardous. For example, all synthetic multi-range foams are classified in water hazard class 2 or above. The use of foaming agents therefore poses a risk to the environment, be it during manufacture, transport, storage, use or disposal.
The invention has for its object a foaming agent to create that high extinguishing performance in high environment shows tolerance.
This object is achieved by the features of Claim 1 solved.
The advantages of the invention are that the foam medium high extinguishing performance with low environmental impact having. An alkyl polygly is used as the base foaming agent Kosid use, which is very well tolerated by ecotoxicology and is easily biodegradable. The foaming agent on The basis of the alkyl polyglycosides are purely vegetable Raw materials. They’re just carbon, Hydrogen and oxygen and are abge to CO₂ and H₂O builds. Because plants resume these breakdown products given a natural cycle.
According to an embodiment of the invention in accordance with the Claim 2 has the foaming agent next to the base foaming agent alkyl polyglycoside a proportion of butyl digly kol on. This glycol serves as a solubilizer and also acts like a cosurfactant to enhance foam. About that Butyl diglycol also provides frost protection medium. This recipe component also fulfills the Criteria of low environmental risk. With regard to the Foaming performance is achieved with the solubilizer Butyldiglycol a synergy in the form that for the Achieving a certain amount of foam significantly less the base foam agent alkyl polyglycoside is required. With in other words, it is incorporated into the environment brought reduced share of biomass to be mined and the Less burden on the environment. The same applies to the Entry of the wastewater contaminated with the foaming agent in a biological sewage treatment plant.
Die restlichen Unteransprüche 3 bis 11 geben weitere Ausge staltungen der Erfindung an.The remaining subclaims 3 to 11 give further explanations Events of the invention.
For the recipes mentioned below, the Weight percentages in each case on the undiluted recipe turbo components. This makes you independent of the below different concentrations of those available on the market diluted ingredients.
In allen drei
in Sekunden s aufgetragen.
WHZ in Minuten aufgetragen. Fig. 3 gibt die Werte für
Each of the four recipes has the following basic composition:
7 to 25 weight percent of an alkyl polyglycoside.
Information on this: Figs. 2 to 4 illustrate the effect of the base We foaming agent alkylpolyglycoside in depen dependence of the height of its admixture. In all three diagrams, the proportion of the alkyl polyglycoside APG in percent by weight of the foaming agent is plotted on the abscissa. The erase time t in seconds s is plotted on the ordinate in FIG. 2. One curve in FIG. 2 applies to tap water LW, while the other applies to sea water MW. In FIGS. 3 and 4, each weils plotted on the ordinate the ratio of the foam and the water VZ half WHZ in minutes. Fig. 3 gives the values for tap water, whereas Fig. 4 shows the curves for the foaming with artificial sea water.
From Fig. 2 it can be seen that up to a certain proportion of alkyl polyglycoside the extinguishing performance improves ver and then remains essentially constant.
In other words, increasing the Share of alkyl polyglycoside to over 25 wt .-% no significant increase in performance.
Fig. 2 shows that with less than about 14 wt .-% of alkyl polyglycoside, the extinguishing performance when foaming with artificial sea water drops drastically.
Besonders gute Verschäumungswerte erhält man mit dem Produkt, welches unter der Warenbezeichnung "Glucopon 225 CS UP" und "Glucopon 215 CS UP" von der Fa. Henkel vertrieben wird. You get particularly good foaming values with the Product sold under the trademark "Glucopon 225 CS UP "and" Glucopon 215 CS UP "from Henkel is distributed.
Information on this: A proportion of more than 10% by weight of butyl diglycol is possible, but does not lead to a higher foaming performance. A lower admixture down to 5% by weight of the recipe still gives usable results.
Butyl diglycol has a foam-enhancing effect like a cosurfactant and is also an antifreeze Together with the alkyl polyglycoside, butyl diglycol causes a synergy effect on the foaming line stung.
0 bis 36 Gewichtsprozent Zusatzmittel.
Angaben hierzu: Zur Erzielung besonderer Eigenschaften
können Frostschutzmittel, weitere Tenside zur Steigerung
der Löschleistung, Konservierungsstoffe, Neutralisie
rungsmittel oder Schaumstabilisatoren beigefügt sein.
Hierauf wird nachfolgend gesondert eingegangen.0 to 36 weight percent additive.
Information on this: To achieve special properties, anti-freeze, other surfactants to increase the extinguishing performance, preservatives, neutralizing agents or foam stabilizers can be added. This will be dealt with separately below.
Rest Wasser.
Angaben hierzu: Zur Herstellung des Schaummittels sollte
keimfreies Wasser verwendet werden, um die Langzeitsta
bilität zu verbessern.Rest of water.
Information on this: Germ-free water should be used to produce the foaming agent in order to improve long-term stability.
Diese allgemeine Formulierung eignet sich zur Herstellung von umweltverträglichemThis general formulation is suitable for manufacturing of environmentally friendly
- - Schwerschaum,- heavy foam,
- - Mittelschaum und- middle foam and
- - Leichtschaum.- Light foam.
Für Schwerschaum wurden Verschäumungszahlen von 8 bis 9 er zielt, für Mittelschaum 60 bis 70 und für Leichtschaum 650 bis 745.Foaming numbers of 8 to 9 were used for heavy foam targets 60 to 70 for medium foam and for light foam 650 to 745.
Nachfolgend werden die Zusatzmittel näher beschrieben: The additives are described in more detail below:
Propylene glycol is used, for example ge more environmentally friendly than conventional ethylene glycol is. Propylene glycol leads to a somewhat lower one Extinguishing performance, however, by adding a small amount on the previously described solubilizer butyl diglycol is compensated.
For example, a proportion of 20% by weight is sufficient to ensure frost resistance down to minus 15 ° C. An increased addition of propylene glycol to further increase the frost resistance is without significant change Foaming performance possible.
The addition of propylene glycol is almost limited sudden decrease in extinguishing performance. Above of 30% by weight of propylene glycol in the recipe occurs when extinguished "Ghost fire" on. The foam itself becomes flammable.
Als Schaumstabilisatoren genügen geringe Mengen eines Fettalkohols. Beispielsweise kam es sich um Nonylalkohol handeln.Small amounts of one are sufficient as foam stabilizers Fatty alcohol. For example, it was nonyl alcohol act.
A reduction to less than 0.3% by weight of nonyl alcohol from Re formula does not make sense. An increase to max. Is 2% possible. With higher dosing there is a risk of Flocculation.
If there is flocculation in the foam concentrate, there is Ge Drive that the admixers can clog up in the field.
An organic acid Ver turn. Salicylic acid, for example, is suitable.
Salicylic acid is environmentally friendly and biodegradable. Compared to conventional preservatives, an approx. 10 times higher dosing to about 0.2% required.
To make the foaming agent skin-friendly to a pH of To set about 8, citric acid is used. As a ne beneffekt achieves that any clouding of the foam be eliminated by means. Citric acid is organic completely degradable and environmentally friendly.
Hierzu eignet sich z. B. Natrium-Laurylsulfat oder Natrium- n-decylsulfat. For this, z. B. sodium lauryl sulfate or sodium n-decyl sulfate.
Will a small proportion of the base foam alkyl polyglycoside replaced by an anionic surfactant, ver the extinguishing performance improves.
The proportions can vary between 0.5 and 5% by weight will. A reduction to less than 1% by weight is reduced noticeable the total extinguishing performance.
A proportion of more than 5 wt .-% was in an extinguishing insert polluting the environment significantly more. In addition, one would Downgrading the overall recipe from water pollution class 1 after 2. When adding an anionic Surfactants require a lower proportion of alkyl poly glycoside.
A wide variety of fluorine surfactants can be used will. It is only important that the surface tension is reduced to below 18 mN / m, causing the extinguishing foam maintains film-forming properties and the extinguishing performance is increased.
By adding a small amount of fluorosurfactant achieved a significant increase in extinguishing performance.
A proportion of more than 1.5% by weight of fluorosurfactant in the formulation increases the film formation, but 1.5% by weight is sufficient in order not to unnecessarily burden the environment. It is possible to reduce the fluorosurfactant content to 0.7% by weight. However, the effectiveness of the film will then be significantly reduced. Shares of 0.1% by weight also bring performance advantages when extinguishing. However, a stable water film is then no longer formed. If anionic surfactants are used at the same time, a significantly lower proportion of alkyl polyglycoside is required, as can be seen from the formulation 4 mentioned later. An increase in the proportion of alkyl polyglycoside to over 10.5% by weight begins to have a deleterious effect on the extinguishing performance because the water film formation is hindered. The foam becomes too compact and the film-forming fluorine surfactant can no longer escape downwards from the foam quickly enough.

From Fig. 1 it can be seen that all the foaming agents of the formulations previously 1 , 2 , 3 and 4 he even falls below the limit value G₁ the extinguishing time for film-forming fluoroprotein foaming agents. G₂ represents the limit for protein or multigrade foams.
The foaming agents according to recipes 1 , 2 and 3 are classified in water hazard class 1 (slightly hazardous to water).
Since formulation 4 has a fluorine surfactant content of more than 0.2% by weight, it is assigned to water hazard class 2. To further improve the environmental compatibility, it is therefore provided that a foam compound, which has a less environmentally compatible substance, be packaged modularly in two units and only mixed with one another when in use. In this regard, recipe 3 has critical proportions of anionic surfactants with regard to environmental compatibility, and recipe 4 additionally contains fluorine surfactants. Therefore, these critical parts are stored in a separate packaging unit until they are used. It is appropriate to add small amounts of antifreeze, solubilizer and water with regard to storage and miscibility in use. The above-mentioned modular design of the foam agent facilitates the manufacture, storage and disposal of the extinguishing agent. Because, for example, the critical recipe components, which make up a small proportion in terms of volume, can be stored with special protective measures or later disposed of separately.
To adjust the viscosity or to adapt to foam devices, the foam agent can be diluted with up to the same amount of water in accordance with the basic recipe or the recipes 1 to 4 mentioned above. Likewise, the foaming agent of the recipes presented can contain at least twice the amount up to max. 35 times the amount of water to form a pre-diluted solution for e.g. fire extinguishers or fire extinguishers, whereby additional preservation measures are necessary depending on the length of time the solution remains in the devices.
