Abstract

The method for manufacturing a support piece for an airbag system involves a plastic support piece (1) and a capture hoop (2) esp. for attaching to an airbag cover piece. In an injection moulding tool (3), the capture hoop alternates with its upper (2a) and lower (2b) sides to lie in the tool half mould (3a,3b). The support piece is built from injection moulded plastics and the capture hoop may be braced in sections. In both of the work tool halves in the capture hoops length direction, the support pieces may formed as connected to an alternative cavity (5). The capture hoop in the lower tool half of the horizontal piece of the injection mould tool is fixed using a peg clip.

Description

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Herstellverfahren für ein Kunststoff-Trägerteil eines Fahrzeug-Airbagsystemes, an welchem ein Fangband, insbesondere für ein Airbag-Deckelteil, befestigt ist. Zum bekannten Stand der Technik wird bei­ spielshalber auf die DE 43 15 853 A1 verwiesen, in welcher eine Armaturen­ tafel für einen Personenkraftwagen mit einem Beifahrer-Airbag beschrieben ist und worin auch die der vorliegenden Erfindung zugrundeliegenden Bau­ teile, nämlich ein Trägerteil eines Airbag-Faches, welches ein Airbag-Deckel­ teil trägt, sowie das genannten Fang band gezeigt sind.The invention relates to a manufacturing method for a plastic carrier part Vehicle airbag system on which a tether, especially for a Airbag cover part is attached. Dies sowie die in den Unteransprüchen angegebenen vorteilhaften Weiter­ bildungen der Erfindung wird im folgenden anhand eines bevorzugten Aus­ führungsbeispiels näher beschrieben. Hierzu wird das Trä­ gerteil 1 als Kunststoff-Spritzgußteil in einem Spritzgieß-Werkzeug 3 ge­ formt, das wie üblich zwei Formhälften aufweist, nämlich eine obere Form­ hälfte 3a sowie untere Formhälfte 3b. Die Herstellung des Trägerteil-Fang­ band-Verbandes läuft dabei derart ab, daß zunächst das Fangband 2 in die untere Formhälfte 3b des geöffneten Spritzgieß-Werkzeuges 3 eingelegt wird. Hierin ist das Fangband 2 durch mehrere Aufsteckstifte 4 fixiert. An­ schließend wird das Werkzeug 3 wie üblich geschlossen, wobei - wie er­ sichtlich - das Fangband 2 abwechselnd mit seiner Oberseite 2a und seiner Unterseite 2b an einer Werkzeug-Formhälfte 3a bzw. 3b anliegt. Hierzu wei­ sen die beiden Werkzeug-Formhälften 3a, 3b in Fangband-Längsrichtung abwechselnd miteinander in Verbindung stehende Hohlräume 5 auf. An­ schließend wird das Kunststoff-Material für das Trägerteil 1 in das Spritz­ gieß-Werkzeug 3 bzw. in die Hohlräume 5 zwischen der oberen Formhälfte 3a und der unteren Formhälfte 3b eingebracht. Nach Aushärten der Kunst­ stoffmasse kann der Trägerteil-Fangband-Verband dem dann geöffneten Spritzgieß-Werkzeug 3 entnommen werden.The carrier part for an airbag cover part of a vehicle airbag system is designated by the reference number 1 . Durch die beschriebene Gestaltung der Werkzeug-Formhälften 3a, 3b ergibt sich die dargestellte Gestalt des Trägerteiles 1, in welche das Fangband 2 sicher und absolut fest integriert ist. Das Fangband 2 ist nämlich quasi in das Trägerteil 1 eingefädelt bzw. das Trägerteil 1 umgreift das Fangband 2 ab­ schnittsweise. Im ersten Abschnitt l befindet sich das Fangband 2 auf der Unterseite des Trägerteiles 1, durchdringt dieses dann im zweiten Abschnitt II, gelangt im Abschnitt III an die Oberseite des Trägerteiles 1, um im Ab­ schnitt IV das Trägerteil 1 wieder zu durchdringen und im Abschnitt V, der dem Abschnitt I entspricht, wieder auf der Unterseite des Trägerteiles 1 um­ griffen zu werden. Hierdurch ergibt sich eine innige Verbindung zwischen Fangband 2 und Trägerteil 1, welche auf die beschriebene Weise äußerst einfach hergestellt werden kann.The described design of the mold halves 3 a, 3 b results in the illustrated shape of the carrier part 1 , in which the tether 2 is securely and absolutely firmly integrated. Hierdurch ist sichergestellt, daß das Fangband 2 einfach auf die untere Formhälfte 3b aufgelegt werden kann und hierbei nicht von dieser Formhälfte 3b abfallen kann. Damit das Fangband 2b nicht in die Hohlräume 5 der unteren Formhälfte 3b hineinrutscht, ist das Fangband 2 zusätzlich durch die Aufsteckstifte 4 fixiert. Die Spritzgieß-Maschine kann dabei eine Werkzeug-Dreheinheit mit mehreren unteren Formhälften 3b aufweisen, so daß ein Werker in eine im Moment offene Formhälfte 3b ein Fangband 2 einlegen kann, solange in einer anderen unteren Formhälfte 3b, die mit einer oberen Formhälfte 3a ein geschlossenes Werkzeug 3 bildet, das Trägerteil 1 durch Kunststoff-Spritzgießen geformt wird. Dabei wird wie erläutert insbesondere mit Hilfe der speziellen Werkzeug-Geometrie das Fangband 2 beim Spritzgießprozeß so umspritzt, daß es von der Thermoplastmatrix des Trägerteiles 1 umschlossen und gegen Herausziehen aus demselben gesi­ chert ist. Dabei kann das Fang band 2 an jeder gewünschten Stelle aus dem Trägerteil 1 herausgeführt sein, es ist nicht erforderlich, diese Stelle - wie gezeigt - in die Trennebene des Werkzeuges 3 zu legen. Daneben können selbstverständlich auch noch eine Vielzahl weiterer Details durchaus abwei­ chend vom gezeigten Ausführungsbeispiel gestaltet sein, ohne den Inhalt der Patentansprüche zu verlassen. Stets ergibt sich ein äußerst einfaches Herstellverfahren, da keine Vormontage und nur lediglich geringe Hand­ lingsumfänge erforderlich sind, wobei gleichzeitig die Stabilität des Träger­ teil-Fangband-Verbandes gegen Herausreissen des Fangbandes 2 aus dem Trägerteil 1 extrem hoch ist.The injection molding tool 3 or the injection molding machine has a so-called vertical clasp, ie it is a horizontally divided injection molding tool 3 with an upper mold half 3 a and a lower mold half 3 b. Herstellverfahren für ein Kunststoff-Trägerteil (1) eines Fahrzeug-Air­ bag-Systemes, an welchem ein Fangband (2), insbesondere für ein Airbag-Deckelteil befestigt ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß in ein Spritzgieß-Werkzeug (3) das Fangband (2) abwechselnd mit seiner Oberseite (2a) und Unterseite (2b) an einer Werkzeug-Formhälfte (3a, 3b) an liegend eingelegt wird und daß das als Kunststoff-Spritzgußteil ausgebildete Trägerteil (1) das Fangband (2) abschnittsweise umgreifend geformt wird.1.
