Abstract

The valve comprises a ball (6) moving freely within a piece of tubing (1) inserted between two vein ends seals onto a sealing ring (8) within the tube in blood movement away from the heart as opposed to blood movement towards the heart in which case the seal (6) bears on parts (5) within the tube to allow blood flow to the heart. The tubing is preferably expanded in its central part (2) to allow free ball seal movement, using longitudinal ribs (3) in the tube arranged at peripheral spacing to form a cage cylinder (4) with waisted heart-facing end (5) to enclose the seal movement as specified. The ribs spread out again on leaving the end to give a steadily convex expanded part so the ribs start and end at the expansion ends. The specific gravity of the ball approximately equals that of the blood and the tube can contain a grid in its centre part so the ball can bear on this without restricting blood flow.

Description

The invention relates to a vein valve. This he leaves only a cardiac flow.

The natural vein valves are valves. Lose this their function often increases with the age of a person ability to cause venous insufficiency such as varicose veins can. In severe cases, it can even lead to the loss of extre come along.

Surgical methods are known to counter this development to act. However, such operations are very complex and not always successful.

The invention has for its object to a vein valve create that as easily as possible inserted into a vein that can and has a long lifespan.

This task is solved by a vein valve, as in the Characteristic of claim 1 is defined.

Of course, the dimensions of the valve of this type be that an unimpeded flow of blood to the heart is accomplished.

Such a vein valve can easily be inserted into the veins build and is largely unlimited.

The vein valve according to the invention is used in such a way that the piece is separated from the vein in which the venous valves are there, and instead invent this uses the appropriate vein valve. The pipe section or the whole valve expediently have a not inconsiderable one Flexibility. But also a relatively rigid piece of pipe or Valve could be useful. As materials come before considers those materials that are also used for bypasses be used.

Further details of the vein valve according to the invention he give up from the drawing.

Fig. 2 shows a section through the venous valve according to the line II-II in FIG. 1.

The vein valve consists of a pipe section 1 which has an expansion 2 in its central region. In this be there are ribs 3 which form a cylindrical cage 4 in their lower part with respect to FIG. 1, which narrows upwards in region 5 . The ribs 3 diverge again. In the cylindrical part 4 there is a ball 6 , the specific weight of which is equal to the specific weight of the blood. The ball 6 thus hovers in the blood and is only moved by the blood flow pressure. If the blood flow is directed towards the heart (see arrow 7 in FIG. 1), the ball 6 is pressed upwards into the narrowed area 5 of the cage 4 formed by the ribs 3 . The blood can flow through the valve unhindered. At a blood pressure in the opposite direction, the ball 6 lies on a seat 8 and thus closes the valve.

Of course, the valve according to the invention can also be between two Bypass ends or a vein end and a bypass end.
