Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for Sorting consignments in a sorting system.
For sorting mail items, such as letters, large letters and the like sorting systems are used in which the with a feeder Consignments are fed through the consignments according to predetermined sorting criteria for a variety of subjects be performed. Given the size and number of compartments in which the shipments be distributed, not individually to the respective temporally strongly changing Operating situation can be adapted, there is one with these Sorting equipment problem that an uneven filling the fan enters and therefore a high number in order to achieve buffering must be provided by subjects. This leads to an increase in constructive, material and financial effort for such sorting conditions and space problems.
One way to deal with this situation is particularly often Sorting directions occurring in the so-called coarse sorting, several Allocate sorting compartments and the consignments of the same sorting direction to be taken alternately into several sorting compartments. This will make an even more use of the sorting compartments and the full available Number of subjects used. However, the alternate leadership of Shipments in several subjects on problems in the operational process. Are the Compartments with a level measurement and a corresponding one Display device equipped, for example, with 80% filling "Almost full message" generated and with 100% filling "full message" generated, the operator who empties the compartments must Full message ", the subject in question was emptied so that the compartment continues to ship even during emptying can be loaded and it is avoided that the fill level to 100% grows so that the compartment can no longer be loaded. Since the Capacity of the compartments here only with z. B. 80% is used, is a higher one Number of subjects required.
A method for sorting mail items is already known from EP 0509428 A2 known with a sorting system, the sorting system funding and a Has a plurality of compartments arranged in strands into which a distribution the shipment takes place according to predetermined sorting classes. Still is from DE 33 33 365 A1 a method is known, according to which shipments in a subject be distributed until this has a predetermined level that Shipments will be distributed to another subject as soon as the given one Level of the first compartment has been reached. This is with a high level of manual Emptying effort when emptying the same end compartments Sort assignment connected.
The object of the present invention is to reduce the outlay on emptying and increase the filling of the compartments.
The object is achieved by the features of claim 1 solved. Further advantageous embodiments of the invention can be found in the subclaims and the description.
The main advantage of the method according to the invention is that a maximum number of subjects can be used 100%. So that will at the same time reduces the work required for the operator who The operator is only notified when compartments need to be emptied.
Dabei zeigt The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to drawings. It shows
Fig. 1 eine Prinzipdarstellung einer Sortieranlage in Draufsicht, Fig. 1 is a schematic representation of a sorting system in plan view,
Fig. 2 is a schematic diagram of a sorting system with several strands and compartments.
In the sorting system shown in Fig. 1, mail items ( 1 ) from a feed device ( 2 ) are conveyed ( 3 ). Sorting information is usually obtained from the surface of the mail items by a reading device ( 4 ), and the mail items are correspondingly distributed in areas ( 6 ) by means of switches ( 5 ). The control systems required to carry out this process are not shown in FIG. 1 for simplification. If, due to the expected volume of consignments, more than one compartment is required to distribute consignments belonging to a single sorting class, a suitable number of compartments is assigned to this sorting class. The programs of the sorting class, which is assigned to more than one subject, are in the relevant subjects F 1. . . F n distributed with the following strategy. First, all mailings of this sort class are distributed in the compartment F 1 until it has a predetermined fill level, preferably 100%. As soon as this level is reached, the other consignments are all divided into compartment F₂ if they belong to this sort class. The same procedure is followed for all other subjects. If one of these compartments has the specified fill level, the operator is not notified. As soon as the last compartment F n of the relevant sorting class has a predetermined fill level S n , a message is sent to an operator to empty the compartments F 1. . . F n given. S n is preferably set equal to 80%. In the strategy described it was assumed that the subjects F₁. . . F n are arranged one behind the other in the conveying means in relation to the conveying direction of the mail items. This means that in relation to the direction of conveyance in the compartment F₁ is spatially in front of the compartment F₂ and is achieved by each shipment in front of the compartment F₂.
The deflection of the mail from the compartment F₁ to compartment F₂ etc., as soon as the previous compartment has reached the predetermined level, is carried out by signals given by a level measurement. Likewise, the message to the operator for emptying the compartments F 1. . . F n always based on a signal from a level measuring device. Instead of a human operator, it is possible to provide an automatic mechanical emptying of the compartments by an industrial robot or the like.
Since the subjects of each sorting class with the exception of the last subject become one any filling level <= 100%, it is easy possible to use a maximum number of subjects 100%. this leads to that the number of messages to the operator is minimal, since he only will be notified when an emptying is actually required. Basically, of course, is a previous emptying of individuals Subjects possible.
In the sorting system shown in FIG. 2, two strands 10 and 20 are operated by sorting bins. For simplification, the sorting device and reading device are not shown in FIG. 2. The shipments can each be distributed to one of the strands via switches 5 . In principle, the distribution strategy described above can be used within a line. A modification of the strategy mentioned above makes it possible to solve a problem that occurs in such multi-strand systems. Obviously, programs that were once routed in one strand cannot get into compartments in another strand. Under certain circumstances, subjects from different strands should be assigned to a common sort class x. In such a case, there is a problem that, at the moment when a "compartment-full report" has been made, shipments in this relevant line are already on the way, they can no longer be redirected to another line. Instead of either setting the fill level measuring device so that a "compartment full message" already occurs when there is still space in the compartment, for mail items that may no longer be redirectable, or the items that can no longer be admitted into a compartment, an overflow compartment at the end of the strand , it is advantageous to provide at least two adjacent compartments within a strand for a sorting class x, so that when the compartment is fully reported, there will usually still be some space in the adjacent compartment for the items already in the strand still to record. This result can also be achieved by alternately loading the adjacent subjects with items.
Hierzu wird die oben dargestellte Strategie folgendermaßen modifiziert:For programs that are too close to the previous one Have consignment in the consignment stream, when stacking in the compartments problems may occur, causing stack quality is impaired. Therefore, it may be convenient to ship items in the greatest possible temporal or spatial distance in the subjects conduct. To do this, the strategy outlined above is modified as follows:
First, all shipments of a certain sorting class are routed alternately to compartments 1 and 2 . If these are full to a predetermined fill level, preferably 100%, the compartments 3 and 4 are alternately sent and so on until the compartments m-1 and n are filled to 80%. To simplify matters, m is assumed to be even. In a modification for odd-numbered n, a last subject is treated separately. Since the mailings are alternately directed into different subjects, the minimum distance between the mailings can also be reduced without additional measures being required. Instead of alternately loading two compartments, larger groups of compartments can be loaded alternately according to the invention. In any case, the frequency of mail items entering a compartment is reduced by the measure described.
