Abstract

A microwave generator (1) feeds the energy to a diesel engine cylinder (4) through a conductor (2). The droplets of fuel (3) become agitated by oscillation of the molecules increasing the separation of the molecules and reducing the surface tension of the droplets, improving vaporisation and combustion of the fuel. The microwave activity may also be used to pre-heat the cylinder for cold-start conditions.

Description

The microwave generator ( 1 ) generates microwaves ( 5 ) which are conducted into the cylinder ( 4 ) by means of a conductor ( 2 ).

The microwaves vibrate the molecules of the fuel, which are sucked into the cylinder as a mixture of air and fuel drops ( 3 ), thereby increasing the distance between the molecules in the drops. The mutual increase in the distance between the fuel molecules simultaneously leads to a reduction in the mutual attractive forces and the surface tension of the drops and thus to faster evaporation.
Also, the molecules hit the components because of the increased movement faster on each other and improve additionally the burning of the fuel.
The vibrations of the molecules under the action of Microwaves are also a heightened impetus for that Brown movements that increase in temperature increase during the combustion, give what at all same increases the pressure disproportionately.
The microwaves can also be used for preheating instead of glow plugs when cold starting diesel engines use.

Claims (2)

Reduction of fuel consumption in diesel and Otto engines with the help of microwaves, characterized by the use of microwave generator and microwave lines through which the micro waves from the generator get into the cylinders of the engine. 2. Vorwärmung der Zylinder des Motors beim Kaltstarten mit Hilfe von Mikrowellen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß dieses Prinzip die Glühkerzen beim Dieselmotor ersetzen kann.2. preheating the cylinders of the engine when cold starting with the help of microwaves, characterized, that this principle can replace the glow plugs in the diesel engine.
