Abstract

The hydraulic stabiliser consists of a piston cylinder unit (1,3') (2,4) fitted between both a left and right wheel and the vehicle chassis. The piston (1,3) separates two fluid cylinder chambers (11,14;) (12,15). The upper chamber (12) of the left cylinder (1) is connected to the lower (14) of the right (3) and vice versa (11) to (15). A compensation chamber (5,6) is fitted in each of the connecting lines. Pref. the compensation chamber has a gas damping cushion (9,10) and or coil spring (19,20) separate from the hydraulic fluid line. Pref. the gas cushion and or coil spring are matched to the system pressure and the stabiliser characteristics.
