aus Schlempekohle.made from charcoal.
The production of a technically pure or even up to 99 percent potassium carbonate containing potash from coal still in an industrially usable manner is known so far failed. One can, however, in the usual manner by fractional crystallization from the Liquor obtained from liquor at various concentrations and temperatures most of the salts present in the above-mentioned alkalis in addition to potassium carbonate, such as potassium sulfate, potassium chloride, and sodium carbonate— the latter in the form of its double salt with potassium carbonate -, for excretion bring and then the purified mother liquor for the purpose of obtaining that contained in it Bring potash to dryness and calcine.
However, it is impossible in this way to obtain a product which is more than Contains 95 percent potassium carbonate, as the last portion of potassium chloride, sodium carbonate and especially resist the excretion of potassium phosphate.
The method forming the subject of the present invention now enables a high-percentage potash to be obtained from coal stillage and is based on the fact that at concentrations between 56 ° and 62 ° Be. and eliminated within the temperatures of from 95 ° to 50 0 C. a water-containing potassium carbonate, which is calculated on the anhydrous salt contains until more than 99 percent of potassium carbonate, while the contaminating salts remain in the mother liquor.
For the purpose of practicing the present method, from one to about 53 ° Be. evaporated potash eye assumed which of the majority of the contaminating salts in a known manner has been released.
Wird diese Lauge nun auf eine Konzentration von 560 bis 62° Be. gebracht, so fällt in der Hitze, und zwar oberhalb 900 C. ein Doppelsalz aus, welches den überwiegenden Teil des in der Lauge enthaltenen Natriumcarbonates enthält und annähernd der FormelIf this lye is now to a concentration of 56 0 to 62 ° Be. brought, a double salt precipitates in the heat, namely above 90 ° C., which contains the predominant part of the sodium carbonate contained in the lye and approximately the formula
5K2CO3 + Na2 CO3 + 4H2O5K 2 CO 3 + Na 2 CO 3 + 4H 2 O
entspricht.is equivalent to.
This salt gets best back to that at 53 ° Be. lye to be thickened repeated soda elimination.
In any manner, the precipitated double salt from the mother liquor, which is then cooled in a cooler with slow walking agitator to about 50 0 C. separating.
Das sich in dieser Periode in Kristallen ausscheidende wasserhaltige Salz hat ungefähr die ZusammensetzungThe hydrous salt precipitating in crystals during this period has approximately the composition
3K,CO3 + 5H2 O.3K, CO 3 + 5H 2 O.
Es wird von der Mutterlauge durch Abschleudern oder in sonstiger bekannter Weise getrennt und durch Decken mit einer aus den Kristallen bereiteten KaliumcarbonatlösungIt is removed from the mother liquor by centrifuging or in any other known manner separated and covered with a potassium carbonate solution prepared from the crystals
H105H105
von der noch anhaftenden Lauge befreit, um dann ohne weiteres als wasserhaltiges Salz oder durch Kalzinieren entwässert als wasserfreie, technisch reine Pottasche in den Handel gebracht zu werden.freed from the still adhering lye, to then be used as a water-containing salt or dehydrated by calcination as anhydrous, technically pure potash on the market to be brought.
The composition of this product, calculated as anhydrous salt, is approximately:
C O3.... 98,5 bis 99,4 Prozent,
2C
KCl CO 3 .... 98.5 to 99.4 percent,
2 C KCl
Na2 C O3. . . 1,2 - 0,4 Na 2 CO 3 . . . 1.2-0.4
. . . O,3 - 0,2. . . 0.3-0.2
Die verbliebene λ/ίutterlauge hat beispielsweise folgende Zusammensetzung:The remaining λ / ίutter liquor has the following composition, for example:
Wasser 19,0,Water 19.0,
1^ Kolensaures Kali 71,0, 1 ^ Potash kolensate 71.0,
Kohlensaures Natron 0,6,Carbonate of soda 0.6,
Chlorkalium 9,4.Potassium Chloride 9.4.
The same can be used for possible excretion of potassium chlorine to 52 ° Be. diluted and chilled the potassium chloride crystallizes out. The lye separated from it can, as described, be converted to a high percentage Potash can be processed or used directly to produce a potash with over 90 percent carbonate content Potash.
