Es ist bei Polstersesseln und Couchen ein bekannter Überstand,
daß die stoffbezogenen Armlehnen durch die ständige Berührung
mit den Händen frühzeitig abgenutzt werden.

It is a well-known protrusion on upholstered armchairs and couches,
that the fabric-covered armrests through constant contact
with hands worn out prematurely.
Dieser Überstand wird gemäß der Neuheit durch eine die Armlehne übergreifende
und darauf verschiebbare, abnehmbare und auswechselbare Handauflage beseitigt. Eine
solche Handauflage, die vermöge ihrer Form die Armlehne mit einer gewissen Spannung
beiderseits überfaßt, wird vorzugsweise aus einem starren Werkstoff hergestellt,
der dem jeweiligen Bezugsstoff in Eigenschaft und Aussehen von Natur aus oder durch
entsprechende Bearbeitung angepaßt sein kann. Es können hierfür Werkstoffe, wie
Schichtholz, Kunststoffe oder auch Metalle als Kern, in Betracht kommen, welch letztere
dann zweckmäßig mit einem Holzfurnier oder mit Leder oder mit holzgemaserten Folien
beschichtet sein können, oder auch auf fotochemischem Druckwege mit einer Art Holzmaserung
versehen sein können. Dabei kann weiterhin darauf Bedacht genommen werden, daß der
Bezugsstoff durch die Handauflage schonend behandelt wird. Die Form der Handauflage
kann verschiedenartig sein, wenn sie nur ausreichend fest aber immerhin noch verschiebbar
auf der Armlehne aufliegt.
