Durch die Patentschrift 182107 ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Tonwaren aus Gemengen von Tonmassen und Glas bekannt gegeben, nach welchem man Gefäße erzeugt, die gebrannt eigenartig hart und zäh erscheinen und durch überraschende Widerstandsfähigkeit gegen schroffe Temperaturwechsel sowie Unempfindlichkeit gegen die Einwirkung von Chemikalien ausgezeichnet sind. Zu einem derartigen Ergebnis gelangt man, wenn mittels plastischen Tons als Bindemittel ein Gemisch unplastischer Tone oder Quarze mit einer entsprechend gekörnten harten Glasschmelze geformt wird.
