In der vorteilhaft hölzernen Bodenplatte 1 sind prismatische Säulen 2 festgeschraubt, deren obere Enden durch das Querstück 3 miteinander verbunden sind. Die fünfeckige Holzplatte 4 ist mittels zweier Zapfen 5 mit der Grundplatte 1 fest verbunden, während die andere ebenso geformte Holzplatte 6 in einer Nut der Grundplatte längsverschiebbar angeordnet ist und an der inneren, senkrechten Seitenfläche eine Nut 12 aufweist. Zwischen diesen Backen 4 und 6 ist das zweckmäßig aus Gußeisen hergestellte Walkbrett 7 eingeschoben. Dasselbe ruht auf der Gestellplatte 1 mit seinen unteren Kanten auf. An seinem oberen Ende besitzt das Walkbrett 7 eine wagerechte Abflachung. In diesem abgeflachten, vorteilhaft verstärkten oberen Teile des Walkbrettes 7 ist eine Ausnehmung vorgesehen, in welche das untere Ende einer Schraubenspindel 8 eingreifen kann. Die Schraube 8, deren Gewinde in einem Muttergewinde des Querhaupts 3 geführt ist, wird durch einen Schwungarm 9 zweckentsprechend zum Auf- und Niedergang veranlaßt. Mittels einer durch die Säule 2 gehenden Einstellschraube 10 kann der Walkbacken 6 mehr oder weniger an das Walkbrett 7 bezw. an das Leder angepreßt und dem Leder, das sich zwischen den Backen und dem Walkbrett befindet, die Form des Walkbrettes 7 gegeben werden.
