steuernde Last,
Diffe-
renzverstärkerstufe miteinander verglichen werden, welche
bei
Stromistwertübersehreitung den Steuerstrom des den Leistungstran-
sistor beeinflussgnden Voratufentransistors vermindert.

an-

dies erfordern. Protection circuit for power transistors Zn of the contactless control and regulation technology, it is common to occupy the end link of a control chain with a transistorized switching amplifier stage, which controls the load circuit. The output peeling Tung such switching amplifier is generally carried out so that the collector of the power transistor is supplied to an externally accessible at the module terminal and that on the block a further terminal (output terminal) is present, at which the operating potential of the supply current source is present. The load to be controlled, for example, was a more or less low-resistance, a solenoid valve or a contactor is then connected to these examples the output terminals. If these two terminals (output terminals) of the switching amplifier are accidentally connected to one another, such a high short-circuit current flows in the power transistor that it is overloaded and destroyed by thermal influences. The same consequences can result if . .the load to be connected is selected to be too low-resistance in relation to the size of the power transistor. The invention is concerned with the task of building a protective circuit for such power output stages which is intended to ensure that the permissible power transistor power loss can not be exceeded under any circumstances as soon as a short circuit occurs at the external terminals. In addition, the invention is concerned with the further task of automatically making the endangered power transmission amplifier fully operational again as soon as the short circuit or the overload disappears. Accordingly, the invention relates to a protective circuit for a switching amplifier containing at least one power transistor, to which the sound to be switched can be connected via output terminals, one of which is connected to the operating potential of the power supply, the other to the collector of the power transistor . In such a protective circuit, the invention consists in that the actual current value in the stretch of the power transistor with a predetermined, in a
Auxiliary circuit definable current setpoint by means of a differential
reference amplifier stage are compared with each other, which at

Another feature of the invention is the auxiliary circuit a voltage
monitoring, which depends on the collector
voltage of the power transistor, preferably via a Zener
diode, controls a transistor influencing the current setpoint.
According to a further feature of the invention, the voltage influences
Monitoring of the auxiliary transistor via a delay element.
The invention is based on an exemplary embodiment below
explained in more detail.
The figure illustrates two framed parts, the top of which
Part includes the switching amplifier SV, the three-stage with transistor

sistors, the transistor p3 is the power transistor, its
Collector is connected to the output terminal .A, while the
second output terminal B with the operating potential of the power supply
power source is connected. Between the output terminals A and H.

The 3S protective circuit works as follows: The

which is provided by the voltage divider r11 / r12 of the protective circuit SS
The current setpoint given is via the differential amplifier stage DV

Base of transistor p42 is only reached when the collector
circuit of the power transistor p3 the rated current is exceeded.
This case occurs in the event of an overload or a short circuit
in the load circuit. If there is such a load, then begins
the transistor p42 to block, its collector potential being negative
will. About the resistance r? in the switching amplifier SV is the pre-
atufentransistor p1 dann_Steueratrom withdrawn and thereby the im

The collector current must be a little above that at nominal operation
of the power transistor p3 can be reduced with increasing collector-emitter voltage. This is done via an auxiliary transistor p5 in the protective circuit SS: with this transistor p5 the potential at the base of the transistor p41 of the differential amplifier stage DV is influenced in the sense of a reduction in the nominal current value @. The auxiliary transistor p5 auauführende input signal just WEL the collector of Leistungatranaistors removed and indirectly via a zener diode Z of the base of the auxiliary transistor P5 is supplied, is convenient means of the resistors r15, r16 and the capacitor k2 slightly delay to the protective circuit SS in normal Umpchalten not to let the switching amplifier SV take effect. Both modules, ie the protective circuit SS on the one hand and the switching amplifier SV on the other hand, can be accommodated in separate housings, so that it is possible to retrofit any switching amplifier SV of the type shown with a protective circuit SS according to the invention at any time if special conditions sneezes require this.
