PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
Man führt bei den Derivaten der Dialkylaminobenzophenone, welche mit stickstofifhaltigen Reagenzien, namentlich Hydroxylamin, Hydrazin und substituierten Hydrazinen (Phenylhydrazin, Semi-Whereas benzhydrylamine was used a long time ago by reducing benzophenone oxime with sodium amalgam in acidic solution (Ber. d. D. Chem. Ges. 19 [1886], 3233), as well as benzophenonphenylhydrazone with sodium and alcohol (Ber. d. D. Chem. Ges. 26 [1803], 2168) and one resistant to acids and alkalis Compound represents, until now it has not been possible to find the aminobenzophenone and before especially to convert the p-derivatives into monoaminobenzhydrylamines. It was from the start it is to be expected that the widely used methods of reducing nitrogenous Ketone derivatives to the amines in the series of p-aminobenzophenones would fail and that it would not be possible to add the nitrogen-containing derivatives of the latter to the Aminobenzhydrylamines reduce, because the resistance of these bases - predictably was and was found to be confirmed - very extraordinarily reduced by the influence of the amino group in the para position will. Surprisingly, it has nevertheless been possible to use these hydrolytically very easily disintegrating ', Benzhydrylamines containing a dialkylamine radical in the p-position by means of the same Get reactions showing the appearance of the unsubstituted benzhydrylamines have made possible. One leads with the derivatives of the dialkylaminobenzophenones, which with nitrogen-containing reagents, namely hydroxylamine, hydrazine and substituted hydrazines (phenylhydrazine, semi-
With the production of the previously inaccessible Dialkylaminobenzhydrylamine is a commercial progress linked to the extent that these compounds BEZW. their salts and Acyl derivatives have proven to be a completely new group of substances with a strong anesthetic effect to have.
The oximes of dialkylaminobenzophenones used as starting materials are obtained the action of hydroxylamine chlorohydrate and sodium hydroxide solution on the ketones in alcoholic-aqueous solution creates the phenylhydrazones with the help of phenylhydrazine in acetic alcoholic solution.
Das Oxim des p-Dimethylaminobenzophenons bildet farblose Prismen vom Schmelzpunkt 152 bis 1540.The oxime of p-dimethylaminobenzophenone forms colorless prisms with a melting point of 152 to 154 0 .
The phenylhydrazone of p-Dimethylaminobenzophenons is colorless, crystallized in short prisms and melts at 105 °.
The oxime of p-diethylaminobenzophenone crystallizes in colorless needles with a melting point of 175 ° to 177 °.
The phenylhydrazone of p-diethylaminobenzophenone is obtained in the form of an oil.
The characteristic features of p-dimethyl- and diethylaminobenzhydrylamine are compiled in the table below.
In the boiling solution of 1 kg of p-dimethylaminobenzophenone oxime in 10 1 of ethyl alcohol, 1250 g of sodium are added as quickly as possible and the liquid is refluxed until the metal has completely dissolved, which is accelerated after 2 hours by adding another 5 1 of alcohol. Most of the alcohol is then distilled off with steam or the solution is immediately poured into water, as a result of which the reaction product is precipitated quantitatively. For purification, the base is either converted into its chlorohydrate by dissolving it in dilute alcohol and precipitating it with ethereal hydrochloric acid, or it is freed from the small amounts of added oxime by dissolving it in 20 percent acetic acid and extracting this solution with ether, which leaves it unchanged Starting material is withdrawn.

Initially under cooling with water, then ' while warming to 50 to 60 ° one carries! 3 kg of 3 percent sodium amalgam in small portions and at the same time lets 1 kg of glacial acetic acid slowly drop in, so that the reaction the liquid remains acidic all the time. As soon as the amalgam is used up, the mercury is drained and the evaporated

Alcohol for the most part. The remaining mass is dissolved in dilute acetic acid and some unchanged hydrazone removed from this solution by shaking with ether. The liquid is then made alkaline and extracted with ether, which contains the benzhydrylamine as well as whatever is formed next to it Absorbs aniline. These two bases are finally separated by precipitating the Reaction product from concentrated ethereal solution by gasoline.
Beispiel III.Example III.
A solution of 8 kg becomes more concentrated in the cathode compartment of an electrolytic cell Sulfuric acid, 7 kg of water and 1.5 kg of the p-dimethylaminobenzophenone oxime at a suitable cathode, e.g. B. one made of lead from an effective area of 50 square meters, with a current of 225 amps. After the reduction is complete the resulting ρ - dimethylaminobenzhydrylamine from the sulfuric acid solution just as isolated in the first two examples. The figures given for current density and composition can be varied; Higher and lower current densities and higher currents can just as well be used or weaker acid concentrations can be used; sulfuric acid can also be used replace with other acids. If you apply more oxime than in the existing one If the amount of acid is soluble, it is advisable to stir the cathode solution.
