It is known that the X-rays of ordinary X-ray tubes are not homogeneous are, rather, highly dissimilar in terms of their penetration ability X-rays exist.
Die vorliegende Erfindung nun bezweckt die Schaffung einer Röntgenröhre, mit welcher Röntgenstrahlengemische erhalten werden, bei denen die durchdringungsfähigenThe present invention now aims to provide an X-ray tube with which X-ray mixtures are obtained in which the penetrable
■Such tubes are particularly suitable for therapeutic purposes, for which, if the foci of the disease lie deeper, especially the radiation mixtures in which they are less easy absorbable rays predominate, produce a beneficial effect. ■
For this purpose, either the anticathode is opposed to the inside of the tube a screen is provided, which consists of a material that is more penetrable Lets through rays that are less penetrable but absorbed or transformed into more penetrable ones (e.g. thin sheet iron, porcelain, etc.) Or there will be a screen inside the tube radio-opaque or difficult-to-see material (e.g. thick metal), which is provided with an opening, through which, however, only BEZW. mostly rays that do not come directly from the anticathode, but from the glass wall or some other body (e.g. the diaphragm itself) which is struck by the originally generated X-rays will. It is well known that those struck by X-rays have So-called secondary, tertiary rays, etc. emanating from the surface, far greater penetration force than the X-rays in question.
The use for therapeutic purposes makes it unimportant that the Rays as possible emanate from one point, while for photographic and fluoroscopic purposes by attachment with suitable apertures, sharper images can be produced.
The drawing shows in FIG. 1 a section through an embodiment of an X-ray tube of the first-mentioned type, in FIG. 2 such a section through an embodiment as mentioned in the second place. Here, λ is the cathode, b the anticathode and c a cylindrical diaphragm enclosing the latter (e.g. made of sheet iron). The jacket of the same has the opening d in the embodiment of FIG. 2, through which only those rays can emerge which do not come directly from the anticathode, but rather emanate from points of the diaphragm which are struck by the originally generated X-rays. To achieve this, the anticathode or the aperture, e.g. B. on the side on which the opening d is provided with a with respect to radiation difficult to penetrate projection e , which prevents the exit of rays coming directly from the anticathode through the opening.
nung d verhindert und der auf diese Weise bewirkt, daß nur Sekundärstrahlen durch die Öffnung d treten können. prevents d and the causes in this way that only secondary rays can pass through the opening d .
Of course, the arrangement can also be made such that the secondary rays are first converted into tertiary rays and these then exit through the opening d.
