möglichst hoch zu belasten, also im Bebiet hoher magnetischer Induktion zu arbeiten;
Abbildung 2 zeigt
Magnetic thickness gauge for parts made of ferromagnetic materials
The invention relates to a measuring device for the thickness of parts made of ferromagnetic
Materials, e.g. B. from iron, nickel, cobalt or from alloys with these elements
Thickness gauges are known in which the magnetic flux of a permanent magnet
through the part to be measured as a measured value for the thickness or wall thickness of the
Part is used. For example, the magnetic flux of the permanent magnet is through
the part with a Hall probe or with a field plate in a manner known per se
measured and from this the wall thickness of the part determined The inventor has recognized
that for an exact measurement it is necessary that the part to be measured is magnetic
to load as high as possible, i.e. to work in the area of high magnetic induction;
so that the part to be measured has a high magnetic resistance
the magnetic contact resistance between the part and the attached
Measuring device are small and the measurement is only slightly influenced by inaccurate support
will . The magnetic saturation of a material is also less of the pretreatment
the same as the permeability at lower inductions, so almost
only the thickness of the part to be measured determines the magnetic flux in the measuring path
According to the invention in a magnetic thickness gauge for parts made of ferromagnetic
Materials in which the magnetic flux of a permanent magnet turns into a measuring flux
the part to be measured and is divided into a tributary in which a
Field measuring element is located, the strength of the magnetic flux adjustable in the measuring path. At the
Put on or take off the measuring device, the magnetic flux in the measuring path is switched off,
so that putting on or taking off takes place without adhesive force. Set by
of the magnetic flux in the Nessweg to certain values different from zero can according to the invention
different neses areas can also be formed
The setting of the
Magnetic flux in the Messwg can according to the invention by a mechanical displacement
or twisting of the permanent magnet or by adding a magnetic shunt
is changed. According to the invention, however, the magnetic flux in the measuring path can also
can be set to specific values by means of a current-carrying winding
An embodiment of the invention is shown in Figures 1 and 2 in section
shown. Therein, 1 denotes a pot-shaped housing made of soft iron,
with @ the @ a handle # 2 @ is connected by means of the rod 5. In the soft iron pot
is a permanent magnet 4 with its pole plates 5 and 6 made of soft iron axially displaceable
The soft iron pot is arranged in the lower half by a ring 7 made of non-magnetic
Material, e.g. made of brass, designed in two parts. With the movable permanent magnet
5, the adjustment handle 8 is connected by means of the screws 9, which are inserted through holes in
go to the top of pot 1. Nit 10 is the part to be measured, e.g. an iron plate
with the thickness d, on which the measuring device rests In the switched on
The position of Figure 1 is taken by the flux of the permanent magnet, whose poles are marked with N and
S, the course shown in dashed lines: a part of the river
goes through the part 10 to be measured, another part goes through the shunt, the
is formed by the two-part pot 1. The ratio of the two sub-flows
is determined by the magnetic resistance in the measuring path and in the shunt,
so that the flux is shunted by the magnetic resistor. was dependent on the Nessweg
This is why the magnetic flux density in the shunt is a measure of the thickness
d of the part to be measured -. This flux density in the shunt is calculated with the help of
a field measuring device known per se, e.g. with a Hall probe or with a
Field plate, measured. With 11 such a Feldplatta is referred to, which in a
Recess of the non-magnetic ring 7 is arranged and its field-dependent resistance
is measured with a bridge circuit 12. The supply voltage for the measuring bridge
can be switched on according to the invention with a switch 13 when the
The device is in the measuring position by pressing down the setting handle 8; a power consumption
in the switched-off state is avoided. At 14 is the magnetic flux
in the measuring path, denoted by 15 in the shunt
Figure 2 shows
the measuring device in the switched-off position. By moving the, permanent magnet
In the interior of the soft iron pot, its pole plates only stand with the upper one
Part of the same in connection, so that the magnetic flux passes through the dashed
Lines 16 and 17 takes the route illustrated. Step on the outer surface of the # pot
no flow lines from, so that the measuring device without adhesive force from the to be measured
Part can be lifted off or placed on top of such; when pulling up the
Adjustment handle, the switch 13 switches off the battery of the measuring bridge
Stop not shown in the figure can move the permanent magnet
be limited so that when moving to the Nessstellung not the full flow
is reached in the measuring path, but only an adjustable part of the same. Through this
the sensitivity and thus the measuring range of the device can vary
Thicknesses of the parts to be measured can be adjusted. Another embodiment of the invention
is shown in Figure 3. With this design, the magnetic flux is in the measuring path
not by moving the permanent magnet, but by influencing the flux distribution
adjusted by means of a current-carrying winding.
In a soft iron pot 18 is an axially magnetized permanent magnet
19 arranged with a pole piece 20. The pole piece 20 is made of soft iron with
the highest possible magnetic saturation, e.g. B. from an iron - cobalt alloy
with 20 to 60% cobalt and a saturation magnetization of more than 22,000 Gauss
. The pole piece 20 has an edge which forms an air gap 21 with the pot 18,
in which a field measuring element 22 is arranged, which is connected to a Ness bridge 23
is . A winding 24 is arranged on pole 20. At 25 he is magnetic
Xess flux, with 26 denotes the magnetic flux through the 1 shunt21. Of the
The measuring flux runs through the part to be measured 27 and is therefore of the magnetic 0
Resistance of the same and thus dependent on its thickness. To switch off and take off
or putting on the device can be an electric current from the power source 28 with
the switch 29 can be turned on. The strength of the current is chosen so
that the magnetic flux 25 completely or partially displaced from the part to be measured
and only runs over the shunt 21. In the first case, the device can
can be lifted or put on without adhesive force, in the second case a certain
Measuring range
The importance of the invention for the measurement of wall thicknesses of ferromagnetic
Parts shows that the adhesive force of the device for iron parts is from 5 to
10 mm thick because of the high flow required for saturation, more than 100
Kilopond can be, so that a lift-off without switching off the magnetic flux in the
Measuring path would not be possible at all.
usw. The magnetic flux in the measuring path as a measure of the thickness of a part
can also be measured in any other known way, for example with a
The coil lying around the measuring flux and is connected to a flux meter
The shape of the pole face of the thickness gauges according to the invention can correspond to the shape of the one to be measured
Parts can be adapted, for example the inner and outer profile of pipes, containers, ship walls
etc.
Nessfläche auftreten kann Since the measuring device according to the invention with a high saturation of the
to be measured works, a certain magnetic transition resistance
through an air gap between the device and the part to be measured. According to the invention
can e.g. tapes or pipes to be measured at a small, constant distance
be moved past the measuring surface of the device without touching it; through this
a continuous measurement is made possible without the wear and tear of the
