Richtungsgabel wesentlich zu reduzieren.YZ irItulator The invention relates to a Y circulator for electromagnetic waves. It is common, for example, as an "output monitor" in devices for microwaves, such as transmitters, directional couplers and directional lines or directional forks, which are also referred to as isolators and circulators, to avoid the influence of waves reflected on the output side. -PA 66i 9265
The invention is based on the object of significantly reducing the effort in terms of directional coupler and directional line or directional fork.
This is achieved according to the invention in that in a directional line
or direction fork, hereinafter referred to as the Y-circulator for reasons of simplicity,
at least one coupling device in the vicinity of the gyromagnetic material of the Y circulator
is also provided for the electromagnetic waves. This additional
Coupling device should be preferred between two adjacent connecting arms
of the Y-circulator. In the following, the d-I * .c invention is explained on the basis of exemplary embodiments
and a drawing explained in more detail.
In the drawing, Fig. 1 shows an oblique view from which the visual construction of an exemplary embodiment according to the invention is shown; ", Fig. 2 shows a section through AA 'in Fig. 1; 1 and 2 schematically show an embodiment of the invention. 5 ', 6' connected arms 4, 5, 6 and an outer conductor 3. The DC field BDC is applied to this branch circuit via a magnetic device. It is known that this branch circuit acts as a circulator, for example in one direction 4 -;>5-> 6 -? @ Transmits. When the electrical waves are transmitted in the direction from 4 to 5, the distribution of the electrical waves is between the arms 4 and 5 in the vicinity of the gy rouagnetic material 1 maximum and in the part of the arm 6 it becomes zero, that a device 7 to be electrically coupled to the electrical; dents in the vicinity of the gyromagnetic material 1 is arranged between the arms 4 and a, a part of the electrical waves from the Coupling device 7 derived. Since the waves reflected from the circuit connected to the arm 5 are transmitted to the arm 6 due to the properties of the circulator, they are not coupled to the coupling device 7. With the coupling device 7 only the electrical waves that are transmitted from the arm 4 to the arm 5 are coupled and this coupling device acts as a directional coupler. 3 and 4 show further exemplary embodiments of the invention, the coupling device 7 being able to couple magnetically with the electrical waves. 5 shows an embodiment of the invention in which two coupling devices are provided, of which one coupling device is part of the waves to be transmitted from arm 4 to arm 5 and the other coupling device 8 is part of the waves from arm 5 to arm 6 derives to be transmitted waves. In these exemplary embodiments, it is possible to derive the output of the waves radiated into the arm 5 (coaxial connection 7 ') and the output of the reflected waves (coaxial connection 8') simultaneously and to compare them with one another. It is also possible to provide a coupling device between the arms 4 and 6 in the same way. FIG. 6 shows a measured characteristic curve of the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1, which reproduces the budget g in dB as a function of the frequency f in GHz. The characteristic curve as a circulator represents the loss in the forward direction of less than 0.2 dB and the loss in the reverse direction of at least 30 dB, the degree of coupling C being shown in solid lines and the directivity D being shown in dotted lines . In the embodiment in which the degree of coupling is approximately 24 dB, the characteristic curve of the circulator is hardly different from the case in which no coupling device is provided. The above information relates to a circulator of coaxial construction. However, the invention can also be applied to a circulator with a waveguide construction. As mentioned above, in its practical application, the invention has the great advantage that a Y-circulator having the property of the directional coupler can be achieved by providing simple coupling means between the arms of the Y-circulator. Incidentally, it should also be mentioned that the invention can also be used analogously with a pure directional line and that a Y-circulator can also be used as a directional line, in which one of its three connecting arms is closed off without reflection by means of an absorber.
