Description
KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
Auch kühlen während der Füllung die Retorten sehr stark ab, wasAs is well known, the horizontally lying retorts are filled with the whole amount of coal once loaded. This makes the production of coal gas from coal economically viable adversely affected because the carbon-rich gas components partially by the Contact with the glowing retort filling will be destroyed. Also cool during the Filling the retorts very heavily, what
ίο einige Zeit zu ihrer Wiedererhitzung erfordert, womit natürlich ein Verlust bei der Gaserzeugung verbunden ist.ίο requires some time to reheat, which of course involves a loss in gas generation.
The purpose of the invention, which uses upright retorts, is to remedy the abuses mentioned to eliminate while at the same time simplifying the process of coking the coal and the following advantages are obtained:
1. eine größere Ausbeute an Gas aus der gleichen Menge Kohle,1. a greater yield of gas from the same amount of coal,
2. ein besseres Gas,2. a better gas,
3. eine bessere Beschaffenheit des Kokses,3. a better quality of the coke,
4. eine Ersparnis an Handarbeit und4. a saving in manual labor and
A reduction in the cost of the raw material that is a waste product in the form can be of clear or dusted coal or coal grit.
In a standing retort of known equipment is a mass of glowing burning? Substance gradually formed, so that the non-coked coal is always on top and in the most favorable position for their degassing.
Fig. Ι shows in cross section a horizontally lying retort that was used in the hitherto Art has been charged, and FIG. 2 shows a device for charging in section according to the new procedure.
Eine vollständige Verkokung und Erhaltung der kohlenstoffreicheren Gase erreicht man durch Benutzung stehender Retorten, wenn man sie in der nachstehend beschriebenen undSo far, in the retort α (Fig. 1) of the usual D-shape, the carbon layer bc, filling the entire length of the retort, was on the bottom of the retort. When the retort is heated from the outside, the parts of the coal mass lying next to the retort wall are coked relatively quickly and form a red-hot coke mass b. Since in this case the coking takes place from the outside, a core c of uncoked coal remains inside, which is surrounded by the red-hot mass b . Since the core c is not coked until later and gradually, the expelled gas must pass through the mass b , parts of the gas being decomposed and losing their luminosity to such an extent that it is not worthwhile to continue coking until the entire mass is coked. It follows, therefore, that part of the core c remains uncoked, and as a result there is a loss of gas, while a large part of the expelled gas has a lower heating and luminous value. Complete coking and conservation of the more carbon-rich gases can be achieved by using standing retorts as described in the following and
den Gegenstand der Erfindung bildenden Weise beschickt.the subject of the invention charged manner.
The red-hot coke mass e and the non-coked coal / are located in the standing retort d of the known arrangement. As mentioned above, the mass in the retort is gradually formed, but the non-coked coal is always on top
Hierdurch behält das Gas sein gesamtes Leuchtvermögen und wird nicht durch die Einwirkung einer rotglühenden Koksmasse verschlechtert.ίο at f, and the gas is driven immediately after the riser tubes without passing through the red-hot coke mass or coming into contact with it. As a result, the gas retains its entire luminosity and is not impaired by the action of a red-hot coke mass.
Fig. 2 shows at the same time a suitable device for carrying out the method. The retort inserted into a housing or furnace g consists of an upright part h which extends approximately halfway through the retort and an inclined lower part j which is approximately a quarter of the length of the retort. The remaining part k between parts h and j is curved. The upright part tapers a little upwards and widens downwards so that the inclined retort part is of larger diameter and extends beyond the housing; here a pipe socket / with a door or a cover of a suitable arrangement is attached.
The use of upright retorts with an inclined lower part has already been proposed; but they are only able to develop their advantageous effectiveness when they are connected to a filling device of the following type. A pipe socket m is placed on the upper end of the retort, to which the uninterrupted filling device for the coal is connected upwards and from which a riser pipe η ο obliquely sideways. like
abführt. Die Füllvorrichtung besteht ausleads away. The filling device consists of
- a funnel ο for receiving fine coal, under which there is a pipe ρ leading to the pipe socket m . The funnel is preferably in the middle above the pipe socket in.
A measuring and closing device is inserted into the tube ρ and consists of two conical pistons q , which are seated on a common spindle r at a suitable distance from one another and move slightly in the tube ρ. The stroke of the pistons is so dimensioned that the upper piston emerges from the tube in the maximum position in order to let the coals from the funnel pass between the two pistons. The lower piston, on the other hand, comes out of the tube ρ in the low position, so that the coal can fall into the retort, but the piston q remains in the tube or cylinder ρ , so that the retort is closed and gas escapes the retort is avoided in the funnel. The spindle r is continuously moved up and down.
The lower conical piston lets the coal fall against the wall of the retort in order to form the shell-like pocket of uncoked coal on top of the red-hot coke mass e at f . This pocket acts like a kind of boiler in which the tar formed by coking is completely converted into gas.
This results in a significant increase in carbon-rich gas and the Ordinary tar formation avoided.
The small-grain coal used cokes quickly and produces a very good coke. The emptying is effected by removing a plate s through the lower pipe socket /; Said plate serves to support "the coke mass at a certain distance from the cover until it is removed.
After emptying the plate is used s again, and the process of decoking is like before going on.
The retorts described above cannot cool down; consequently is the duration of their use is much longer. Smoke is also eliminated, which is common becomes noticeable when the retorts are loaded in the usual way.
Die Kohle oder der Kohlengrus können in eine Grube im Erdboden hineingeworfen und aus dieser durch eine Hebevorrichtung nach einer Transportvorrichtung gebracht werden, welche die Kohle über den Ofen hinweg nach dem Trichter einer jeden RetorteThe coal or the coal grit can be thrown into a pit in the ground and brought from this by a lifting device to a transport device will be taking the charcoal across the furnace to the funnel of each retort
