Die Befestigungsöse besteht aus den beiden Teilen α und b. Die Hutkrempe ist dann zwischen den beiden Teilen der Öse eingefaßt, und es ist ersichtlich, daß bei vorzunehmenden Reparaturen die Öse mit der größten Leichtigkeit vom Hute abgenommen werden kann. LTm das leichte und rasche Entfernen der Schnur zu gestatten, ist diese an einem ihrer Enden mit einem Knopf g versehen (Fig. 3), der von dem Stift e abgeschraubt werden kann, um das Hindurchtreten der Schnur durch die Öse zu gestatten. Dieser Knopf kann auch durch ein kleines Querstück ersetzt werden, welches, ohne die Öse vom Hute abzunehmen, durch das Loch derselben hindurchgeführt werden kann. Die Hutschnur ist ferner mit einem kleinen Gleitstück k versehen. (Fig. 6), dessen freies Ende in den Haken c eingelegt wird, wenn die Schnur um den Hut herumgelegt ist. Der Knopf h dient zum Anspannen der Schnur und das Gleitstück i zum Straffhalten des durch das Spannen der Schnur frei werdenden Schnurendes.
