Device for preventing dust deposits on the lenses of optical devices The invention relates to a device for preventing full dust deposits on the surface of beam exit and entrance windows of optical devices with circular entry and exit cross-sections, in particular for optical transmitters and receivers . The invention is particularly important for such optical systems, 'which with the help of a modulated light source, such as a glow lamp, a flash lamp or a luminescent diode - and an optical receiver adapted to the light source - such as a photo element, a photo resistor, a photo multiplier or a Thermoeiemeikt - transmit messages, control or measurement signals. It is often necessary that when using an optical path as a light barrier, the light source and the optical receiver are set up separately and openly. The radiation emitted by the transmitter is then focused on the sensitive surface of the receiver by a lens system, the lenses usually being integrated components of the transmitting and receiving arrangement. Exit and entry windows for the radiation can, however, also be closed off by a protective glass. If such an arrangement is now operated in a dusty atmosphere, the passage of rays is hindered by dust deposits on the windows after a corresponding operating time. Therefore, an 'ii'artu.ng is required for the otherwise maintenance-free setup. The object of the invention is to prevent dust from being deposited on the radiation exit window of the optical transmitter and on the radiation entry window of the optical receiver. This is done according to the invention in that the ring-shaped window frame protruding in the free transmission space has an ring channel for an auxiliary gas and is provided with nozzle-like bores from the ring channel to the window surface. These holes open tangentially to the window circumference and are inclined in the opposite direction to the convex window surface.

. in the drawing, an embodiment according to the invention is shown schematically. Here, FIG. 1 shows a cross-section in a plan view of the device and FIG. 2 shows a cross-section in the area of the outer window. The optical transmitter or receiver, the generally circular entry and exit cross-section. has, is closed with a convex lens or a convexly curved protective window 1 to the outside. This last window is held by an annular enclosure 2. This enclosure protrudes beyond the window in a tubular shape and contains an annular channel 3 which is connected to the pressure side of a blower (not shown) via a tangentially or radially arranged injection nozzle 5. From the inlet channel 3 to the surface of the window 1 , bores 4 are now provided in the inner wall of the annular window frame 2, which open tangentially on the inner circumference of the frame and obliquely directed against the window surface .
Air or another gas now flows through the individual nozzles 4
against the surface of the convex window. So that there is a flow
trains in the manner of a rotary flow.
The air flows first
in helical paths, the slope of which is roughly the same as the inclination of the nozzles against the window surface
corresponds to the outer edge of the window and forms a- 'sag. Potential vortex flow.
The air then flows on the surface of the window in spiral-shaped paths
Center of the window and from here also helical in the form of a rotational flow
away from the window. The convex curvature of the surface becomes the radius of this
Rotational flow is additionally enlarged, so that it covers a very large area
a current with. axial component forms away from the window and so an ingress of dust
and dust deposits on the window surface are avoided. That’s with
simple means ensures that the transmission facilities also 'in very
dusty atmosphere, such as with light barriers in rolling mills, always op
maintenance remains and cannot be contaminated by dust deposits.
