Description
AND APPARATUS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF LAMINATES THE INVENTION relates to a method and a device for the production of laminates, for the production of laminated sheets and panels, which are made up of a plurality made of layers of endless webs or foils and by means of synthetic Resins or plastics are connected.
It is already known to make laminates using webs or sheets of paper, fabric or other materials with a curable resin or plastic impregnated and / or coated. to manufacture.
The main aim of the invention is the continuous production of Laminates in such a way that during the continuous process one The finished surface of the laminate is created without another Treatment would be required. The invention includes a method for the production of a laminate by means of a so-called continuous Method, aas consists in that one first webs of a material with a curable resin impregnated and wound into rollers, the rollers while it rotates are matured, a certain number of rolls of pre-impregnated sheets of the material rotatably mounted, brings the tracks on top of each other and into contact with each other, while being impregnated with resin, the laminated sheets on and partially around a heated, rotatable salt leads, with the back of the laminate forming web is in contact with the drum, a certain removable pre-formed brings the film tightly to the surface of the outer web and thus around the drum runs, this film has a surface that after its removal on The desired finished surface emerges from the outer tooth of the laminate and that the laminate covered with the film around the surface of the heated Roll can travel until at least a substantial part of the required Hardening of the resin takes place.
The invention will now be described in more detail based on the drawing. This shows a device for carrying out the method according to the invention.
When performing the continuous manufacturing process A number of rolls of paper with a synthetic resin are made of a laminate pre-impregnated and then subjected to maturation. Any roll of paper can be led to one or more heated drying rollers and then through a Bath containing a synthetic resin such as a polyester and a Contains catalyst. From this bath the paper web is transferred to rotating devices guided to be wound up in rolls. It may look for a different procedure can be used for impregnation rank of the paper, but it is preferable to submit the paper webs by any drying process, e.g. on heated rolls.
Each of the pre-impregnated paper rolls is then placed in or on one Device with a drive device attached, which the rollers of the pre-impregnated Rotates paper for a certain period of time, so that the rolls "mature" or "age". At this stage the resin penetrates the rollers evenly and only partially hardens.
The laminated web 11 is pressed against the surface of the roller 12 by a pressure roller 14 and at the same time 2 removable edge strips are pulled from the film 15 by rollers and placed between the web 11 and the surface of the roller. A part of each of these strips overlaps the adjacent edge of the laminated webs, whereby resin pressed out at the edges of the webs does not get on the surface of the roller and therefore does not contaminate it with resin. The pressure roller 14 also serves to bring a film 16 as the uppermost layer onto the outer paper web 1, so that the film adheres tightly to the web which is to form the upper layer of the laminate. This film 16 is fed from a rotatable roller 17 and guided around guide or tension rollers or round bars 18, which serve to apply the Yolie evenly to the surface of the laminated web 11, the film 16 is chosen so that it corresponds to the surface of the outer Paper web 1 granted a desired surface finish. Is z. If, for example, the surface of the film is highly polished, it then creates a highly polished surface on the finished laminate and so this can be given a highly polished, polished, semi-polished or matt Winish, as desired. This film is preferably non-porous, non-adhesive and insoluble in the resin, eg a cellulose film, and can be peeled off the laminate in any process step or left on the laminate as a protective cover and only peeled off when the laminate is used or when it is attached. This film 16 is not used to produce the desired surface finish and as a protective cover, but. also enables perfect curing of the resin due to the exclusion of air.
By bringing the web 1 into the outer position, excess resin pressed on its surface by the pressure roller and the film runs out onto a web surface which is remote from the roller. The heat transferred from the roller does not generate as high a temperature in the excess resin on the outer surface of the web 11 as it would on the inner surface . If excess resin has run off the inner web, it could become semi-cured, creating stains on the web surface pressing against the roller. According to the method according to the invention, however, this cannot occur, which limits the possibility of waste being generated.
The laminated paper webs together with the film 16 travel around around the greater part of the periphery of the heated roller 12, which is the layers connecting resin completely or partially hardened. To facilitate this process infrared lamps or other heat sources 19 are provided and can optionally be used. The web is moved by the roller around a guide roller 20 (the adjustable can be) and passed through a heated curing tunnel 21 or in another Way exposed to heat.
On the film 16 pattern-forming or embossing rotatable devices 26 act, e.g. B. driven rollers with a patterned peripheral surface, a rotating brush or the like. These devices can be adjustable (they can be moved to another point along the path of the laminate) and are used to give the surface of web 1 a desired finish.
