Pulver für Treibladungen, Zündladungen, Beiladungen od. dgl.Powder for propellant charges, ignition charges, additional charges or the like.
Powders are known for propellant charges, ignition charges, additional charges, etc., which consist of a mixture of nitrocellulose and black powder consist of saltpeter, sulfur and coal.
In comparison with pure black powder, this black powder mixture, hereinafter referred to as NSP, is characterized above all by the development of a significantly larger amount of gas and heat, whereby the advantages of the black powder, which basically consists of saltpeter, coal and sulfur, namely the good ignitability, the constant ignition force and the even burn-up remain essentially unchanged. On the other hand, the NSP also has significant disadvantages, namely an unfavorable influence on the stability tests at higher temperatures due to the susceptibility of the nitrocellulose to sulfur aes black powder at temperatures above 100 0 C, the formation of toxic sulfur reaction products when the black powder burns in the presence of the Nitrocellulose, in particular sulfur-hydrogen, which can be associated with considerable danger depending on where it is used, and finally the possible formation of heavy slime on gun breeches etc. when gunpowder is fired in conjunction with nitrocellulose.
It has now surprisingly been found that the disadvantages mentioned above can be avoided with a powder according to of the invention from an intimate mixture of about 20 to percent by weight nitrocellulose with about 80 to 20 percent by weight of

sent eines Gemisches aus etwa 5 bis 30 Gewichtsprozent..Holzkohle und 95 "bis 70 Gewichtsprozent Salpeter, vorzugsweise aus einer Mischung von etwa 30 bis 50 Gewichtsprozent Nitrocellulose mit etwa 70 bis 50 Gewichtsprozent des Gemisches aus insbesondere 10 bis 25 Gewichtsprozent Holzkohle und 90 bis 75 Gewichtsprozent Salpeter besteht.sent a mixture of about 5 to 30 weight percent .. charcoal and 95 "to 70 weight percent saltpetre, preferably from a mixture of about 30 to 50 weight percent nitrocellulose with about 70 to 50 percent by weight of the mixture of in particular 10 to 25 percent by weight of charcoal and 90 consists of up to 75 percent by weight of saltpetre.
On the basis of bombardment tests, it was also possible to establish that the ballistic values of the powder according to the invention are in no way inferior to that of the well-known NSP
For example, a USP shot using the same weapon, the same charge and the same projectile resulted in a T 0 of 567 m / s at a pressure of 1611 atm and with the Ptilver according to the invention a Y 0 of 577 m / s at a pressure of 1622 atm, which results in a practically equivalent performance of both powders.
According to one proposal of the invention, it is provided that the powder be produced with the addition of solvents, for example ether and alcohol, acetone or the like, using a kneading process . Kneading and / or rolling processes are produced. In any case, it proves to be advantageous to add the mixture of saltpeter and coal in fine-grained form to the nitrocellulose.
To use the powder in practice, the mixture in gelatinous form is shaped in the extruder, cut to the required length and dried.
Die Knetmasse wird dann zu Nudelpulver stranggepresst und anschließend geschnitten und getrocknet.2.8 kg nitrocellulose, alcohol-moist, ground with 2 to 3 1 aethi kneaded, - then added the mixture of saltpeter and charcoal in fine-grained form and then added the whole thing of stabilizing agents and / or plasticizers for approx. 2 hours. The modeling clay is then extruded into noodle powder and then cut and dried.
